Enough with These "Save The Game" Threads

Honestly? Are you guys seriously doing this?

In a nutshell, these threads contain half-baked ideas that the community is kinda shaken and or split in half about, all with the 0.0000174% a developer will roll past it and actually think "Hey, we should do this!" Do you know how many times that's happened in SK history? Less than ten times.

Nothing we say or do will make the gave any better, and nothing can technically save the game, because the game needs not saving. People leaving en masse won't do anything, raging on the forums won't do anything, nothing we do will influence anything Three Rings decides to do. We are the players, and that's it, if half the community leaves, so what, they still have the other half. You can't fix a game that needs no fixing, when it's perfectly accessible and fully playable for anybody who wants to play it, to simply download and enjoy. And, honestly, this is not General Discussion in the slightest, all you are doing is whining and complaining that Three Rings is taking their time making a good update for once, and that you don't like watching your water boil.

Take for instance, the update today (June 11). It was a much needed bugfix for any who used mac, and I'm sure those who use mac rejoiced when they saw it. So what if it didn't pertain to windows or linux? Making the game playable is much better than adding more content when it's a hassle to play for few. Now, I do know that they announced the gunner update in September of 2013, but that changed the release date to "when it's ready" for a damn reason, so that you all wouldn't bash them for giving you the wrong date and getting your hopes up, and quite frankly, I think they're getting more hate from these impatient players this method than the last. They put out a survey for this exact same reason.

Currently, there are three "Save the game" threads floating around on the General Discussion board, and it makes me cringe every single time I look at them, because whoever is supporting those, and whoever made them, can't just grow up that little bit and wait until next week.

Let the salt flow~

Salt for everyone.

"Are you guys seriously doing this?"

YEP

"You can't fix a game that needs no fixing"

Chyeah sure.

"all you are doing is whining and complaining that Three Rings is taking their time making a good update for once"

I would wait before saying anything about this "good update", i must admit that i am very skeptic about that and i have saved enough salt bags in case of need.

I think we need a few more those "Save the game" threads.
Maybe GMs will wake up and realize their ship is sinking.

GMs are all aware of people's opinion

It doesn't really matter though, because in the end Sega tells them what to do, how much they need to make etc. Also, GMs don't have anything to do with making the game, or updates. That's the devs. I'm sure they have an idea of what needs to be done, but they also likely have restrictions in place.

*sigh*

I miss Nick.

Stop trying to think this game is "perfect"

When it clearly has had many issues in the past.

It's true,it's annoying and has a bad vibe.Be realistic and Imagine this: you're a gamer and you hear about this spiral knights game. You choose to go to google and search spiral knights. It leads you to this website. You go check out the forums to learn about this game and it's community. However you see these 'save the game threads'. You get the impression this game is dying. You choose not to waste your time and money on a game that is dying.

BOOM, -1 player that could have influenced the game positively

This is exactly what happens !! SO stop this already PLEASE. D:

@Moonstone-Shades

People have the right to think what they want, and there's nothing you can do about that. My policy is "As long as SK is still fun, why should I care for anything else?"

quoted straight from unicorn kitty, one of the guy you quoted

Roarmulus
Roarmulus never made it big like Jelly or Vanaduke; it's down there beyond salvaging, just like Snarby. The levels are dull and repetitive, more timing based than skill based; material/crown/heat gains are unimpressive, and Brinks' rewards aren't even that attractive to farm. Honestly, Roarmulus really had no hope of ever making it big, and frankly I don't see any future bosses (save for T3 maybe) making it big either, unless they sport some very attractive rewards like Sealed Sword, Crest or FoV.

Clearly this guy made the comment before pulsar and static capacitor, those weapons were legendary! And RT boss battle was the most fun and unique out of all boss battles in SK, instead of just unloading charge after charge of blitz needle at vanaduke, you have an enemy that you actually have to out-wit and out-play.

Without RT, I wouldn't have my precious VT which is a bomb that every bomber needs to get eventually.

But really

That was made before Lockdown iirc, so Pulsar was useless and VT was slightly useful.

>citing Magnus of all people

nope nope nope nope nope

Okay. Keep in mind that Magnus was a grand influence on the game...and no, he's not responsible for everything, something I am WELL AWARE of.

People have the right to think what they want, and there's nothing you can do about that. My policy is "As long as SK is still fun, why should I care for anything else?"

That's fairly obvious.

And before you go:
"Shut up you nub, nobody cares and don't play the game if you hate it". I don't hate the GAME, I hate what's HAPPENING to it--I'm not going to pretend that the game is perfect and that I love everything about it when it's clearly FALLING TO PIECES while everyone around me is deciding to quit playing.

@Gianor

You say developers say "Hey, we should do this!" very little... that is why people continue to do it. People post all these threads because they want developers to do something cause they are currently doing nothing but grabbing a few items and redesigning them then throwing it into some boxes and adding bad promotions. We need these posts. I have one going, even if it does have a ton of arguments and recoils on it xD.

Ah-ha, no. If you've ever had a job, you'll know that doing nothing is the worst possible thing to do, for both you and the company. Doing nothing is dreadfully boring, and usually your employer will have a fit. The developers are working on balancing the gunner update, but probably several other things as well(We only knew that the gunner update was coming, but since then we've had Tortodrones make a reappearance, fought through the icy challenge that is Grinchlin Assault, and scampered away from the eerie Apocrea, all while the only thing that was "confirmed" to be worked on were the guns) Just because you can't see them work for 8 hours a day doesn't mean they aren't doing their job.

Then again I'm assuming a lot here. But I would expect a company with over 1000 active players at any given moment to actually work during the hours they've agreed to in any official documents when they signed the paper for their job. I can't see anyone taking seven hour breaks from coding because "The art department's doing fine on their own".

But of course.

As a reminder...

...remember how Shadow Keys got introduced?

Many people rioted on the forums and iirc posted these threads. Of course it was perfectly sensible. Nobody would want to pay thousands of dollars for a chance at a super hard level.

But now, with the Gunner Update being constantly delayed, apparently you think just having pointless promotions endlessly is a good idea.

DING DING DING. WAKE UP CALL, IT'S NOT.
Looking at the pattern of promotions, it seems that Three Rings is really desperate for money. Except, they're doing these promotions incorrectly, to be honest. Getting lots of UV Tickets isn't what players want, it's rather pleasant looking reskins with a guaranteed chance of a good item. Not something like the Equinox event or (blaaargh) the Hunter event.

With me seeing how the Gunner Update will work (it's just a bunch of reskins, nerfs and buffs, but expect to see more Polaris in Lockdown due to it getting buffed.) expect Lockdown to be ruined FOREVER.

What we do need is promotions, but not shameless UV Tickets for $20, but instead appealing items that drop fairly often from boxes.

By the way, keep in mind, the Roarmulus Twins were a rather terribly designed puzzle boss. Behold.
