Emergency Revive.

Okay, okay, I'm sorry if this really is me just over reacting or something, but I really would like to get this out of my head before I go crazy about it. Let's start this off with a personal story. I'm just going on Spiral Knights to go grind up crowns for my own accessories, so I think why not Vanaduke? I've been grinding on Firestorm Citadel for quite a number of days collecting crowns- and I've experienced this upon many times. I'm sure you've all been in the position where an unmovable enemy blocks you from moving, specifically the trojan. So yeah, the trojan rams into you and sticks you into a corner. You're alone, so you can't do anything at this point. Literally- you can't fight your way out because a trojan can only be harmed from the back... So, in short, you're absolutely screwed. Trojans will be set like concrete on the ground and they'll slash away at your pips like butter, not giving you a single chance to recover. And once you're down once- you remember, "Oh yeah, I have emergency revive!" Well sorry dude, but regardless of emergency revive- the chances of the trojan walking away and giving you a chance to get away from the corner he trapped you in is lower than the 30% setting you can use at Forge. So once the trojan finishes you off for good, you're only left with two options. Storm out of the dungeon you were in because you don't want to use a spark, or have no more remaining, or the other option. Oh goody I have to use up another spark that takes a long time for me to find, oh happy day oh happy day. This is what really ticks me off this part here; Exactly why do I have to use a perfectly good spark when I was at full health and got drained of it because the game was developed a certain way where I can't get out of a situation like this? Yes- I'm sure a similar situation HAS happened to many other users, and it happens it ticks them off to the point where trying again isn't any of the options I'd like to pick. Good job guys, you darn wrecked someone's day.
I mean- I'm sorry for just lynching out like this but I just can't stand certain situations that are just unfair to the player. But I'm sure this isn't really that big of an issue, there are some principles that have to remain to make the game good.. I'd like to just recommend one thing. Let us be able to take control of when we want to use the emergency revive. So when someone experiences a lag spike of any kind during the middle of their game and enemies were unfortunately nearby, that they can revive from it instead of having to restart again because the emergency revive was wasted during lag, allowing enemies to have a few more laughs at hitting your lifeless avatar dead once again, or if you've been trapped and utterly flattened by a trojan's body and sword. Again- Sorry to throw a whirlwind- but having been fighting vanaduke with him at the north west part of the battlefield, and me literally squished between his swirling fire balls of doom, along with his hulking mass, being pressed between two shadow fires that were suddenly placed at my feet preventing me from escaping from the reach of his giant body, with two Almirian Guards coming together, infinitely charging at me from behind the shadow fire. It would've made more sense if I had a screenshot, sorry. I hope many other knights can agree with me here, and in return, we get to be able to use emergency revive at the click of a mouse. Thank you.

@ Poopsie; Yeah, but that's just ONE of the many situations that can happen to you. >_<

@Sweet-Hope; Well there are those who unfortunately don't have a good computer than can run 100% smoothly, so they suffer inconsistent lags but still enjoy the game.. I am one of those people- but fortunately I'm using a laptop that isn't even mine to keep playing.
And that's what I mean! It is part of the game, but I'd like to have some chance to NOT waste my precious sparks! Many people have been on famine with them, y'know? >.<

@Espeonage; Perhaps giving us some knockback of enemies like they did with Sparks, although that would probably be a bit much..

*Update* 6/13; Great I'm getting much more ridiculous results than I thought I would be getting.
If I find 500k in crowns in my mail then I might consider doing a Light Book of '50 Shadows of Fire.'

*Update* 6/14; What am I going to do with the people who can't see it? Anyone got any suggestions?

this? http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/96692

I complain almost the same, but the result was not activating emergency revive immediately while disconnected. So uh... suggestion forum or bug report? I think... a certain timer is needed to limit the abuse of waiting emergency revive (that you will revive when timer went out), as in the old system, we take turns on reviving to have bigger chance get through certain areas.

As fighting vanaduke along with slag guards, avoid hanging out upper side too long because you have the worst visions.

idk how emergency revive works, but to make it "work" once you disconnect you should be disconnected from the game before to die, because if you disconnect when you die, the ER will activate, at least thats how worked for me the last time when i lost my internet signal, i died in the moment i lost my internet so when i was able to connect the game again... the ER activated before and well... the game was asking a Spark of life to revive me.. i said "no thanks".

then the second time that happened i lost my connection before to die, so when i was able to get into the game again the ER activated once i was in the game...

honestly the ER i dont trust a lot on it. but its what we have now. playing when my internet its unstable its a No No for me, because the ER only will work if i disconnect before to die, otherwise the ER will activate and i will die before i can get back to the game.
but oh well this what we get because "people with alts abuse the game" so someone will pop up in this thread and will say "NO because this could be abusable by people".

just dont play when your internet its unstable or you have lag.

being cornered by a tortodrone because the massive lag spike they produce with their missile rain or the "memory leak" that the event have made me lost like 10 sparks because tortodrone once cornered you they never went away from you until they made you waste a spark.

:P but well thats the game.

Is it hot in here or is that just me?

I hope I'm not the only one who read this in a sultry voice. Take out a few words and it works even better.

As for the actual situation in this thread, this is why teamplay is recommended, and Sparks of Life are given to you. I'd recommend a shieldbump + dodge combination when in those situations, as the dodge itself may make the enemy lose interest long enough for you to get away.
Of course, playing the game safe and leading targets that dash so that they don't dash towards walls is the better option - try not to stop moving unless the enemy is already attacking.

Absolutely agree....

If you are pinned in the corner, blitz works without fail (for me at least). Do not charge it. Burst fire will cause the trojan to raise his shield and the gun knockback does the rest. Very, very simple. But i watch a lot of players panic and suffer the cost.

If no blitz is available at the time, your pet attack works. Without those 2 options, you're very limited with shield bumps. But who knows, maybe you'll get lucky :)

And unto the topic, i absolutely agree that we should have the choice of when we revive ourselves. There are times while fighting Lord Vanaduke where fire tiles will appear right under your feet, stucking you with inevitable death regardless of how well the fight is going. You are assured death unless someone (hopefully a teammate notices in time), or Lord Vanaduke dies before the auto revive. I don't get stuck by trojans, but this pisses me off. I just /sigh when it happens. And to add insult to injury, you won't get the loot unless you spark. :(

One possible quick fix is if

One possible quick fix is if the game provided a few seconds of stealth when you revive. Not invincibility, as enemies continue to attack if you are invincible, but stealth so that you lose aggro and can shield bump your way out of a tight spot.

Agreed. You should be allowed to choose when you revive.

Happens

The player often gets stuck inside the shield as well, so no maneuvers can be done to escape.
I have proposed before that being downed for the emergency revive should remove enemy threat/tracking as being downed otherwise has always done. Essentially, emulate the 'dying' part better, instead of laying down on a silver platter. It should be doing this already, really.
