Okay, someone else is already talking about Owlites...but I'm just wondering...what did they look like? Giant owls? Humanoid owls? I have no clue...

Enough rambling. Based on what we know...

They were magician birds. (Owlite Feather description) Therefor, they had to be knowledgeable, obviously!
They probably wore cloaks. (Grey Feather Mantle)
Young Owlites supposedly carried Horned Owlite Shields, meaning that they could carry shields.
In addition, the Grey Owlite Shield was supposedly carried by the most skilled wizards, meaning that they, too, needed shields.

So, I assume the following:

  • If they were owls, then they probably did things with their feet. This would have been quiet a feat to pull off...I don't know how they would defend themselves using shields or don cloaks.
    • One alternative is doing things with their wings. This might be hard...for obvious reasons.
    • Another alternative is that they could manipulate things with magic, much like Jedi. (Or ponies. SHHH)
  • If they were humanoid, everything above would be plausible. This isn't the most interesting one, but it might work.

I'm tempted to draw a few of these...anyway, discuss away!

A little sni_e told me that if you broke into OOO sk office, you can then use the time machine that they're kee_ing hidden to look at the owlites.

Be quick with this information, I fear that they've already sent their assassins to my locati

I don't know how I'd feel about them being giant owl people. That seems like it would be goofy and childish.

If I had to design them, I'd probably make them angels, because angels is an awesome theme that I feel like everyone could get behind. Maybe like how our knights look, but with no eyes or facial expression. Then to differentiate them from the knights, I'd make them either larger or smaller than us, and would give them all wings and various accessories based on dream catchers and feathers.

To tie in the "owl" theme, it could be like their symbol because that is why they are "owlites" to begin with. So they could keep them as pets, perhaps.

Brawk! Trinkets!

Something like the Skeksis or Arakkoa, but more owl-like and spiral-y.

There is a lot of stuff like that.
1. Skolver: Some sought of white fire wolver?
A lot more that I can't think of but why not a RT set and a vana set?
SK, in my opinion is hardly off the ground.

Owlites

I always pictured them as humanoid but with wings like angels, so they essentially have 6 limbs. Then they easily fulfill the story that we've been given so far.

They looked like this. Hoo

They looked like this.

Hoo hoot! YOU... Look up here! It appears that the time has finally come for you to start your adventure! You will encounter many hardships ahead... That is your fate. Don't feel discouraged, even during the toughest times! Go straight this way and you will see Haven. You will meet a knight there... If you are lost and don't know which way to go, look at the Map. The areas you have explored will be shown on the map. Press START to enter the subscreens and Z or R to find the map. On the map subscreen, you will also see a flahing dot showing you which way to go next.
Did you get all that?

(a) no
(b) yes

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

@Fehzor: Interesting ideas....

@Holy-Nightmare: Did you know that the owl shows up in the Lost Woods even after you take the Master Sword? I went back there as Young Link and...horrible things all over again. I even accidentally said 'no'...twice!

@Red-Galaxy: Maybe battle wizard? Or maybe their magic isn't all its cracked up to be? Maybe their magic can't create things in the heat of battle...or better yet, maybe their 'magic' is just used in alchemy. *hint hint*

@Red-Galaxy
Taken from the description of the Wise owlite shield:
It doesn't take a renowned Owlite scholar to figure out that defending oneself with a shield is an excellent idea.
So in response to your question - a smart one. I'm pretty sure that even magic has a limit for how much it can protect against, having a shield as backup would be marvellous.

I'd like to think that the owlites looks something like this race...
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did look alike. There's plenty of Legend of Zelda-esque things in Spiral Knights that it's entirely possible.
