This is an idea I have had floating around my head for a while. I have spent days thinking about this and refining it and I think I am ready to share.

Basically these are modified Lockdown Shields that are meant to be used in the clockworks. The names could be changed but I am certain the mechanics will please.

_________________________________________________________________________________________

The first is the Striker Shield 5star(Berzerker's Buckler), 4star (Brawler's Buckler)

The 5star Shield has a normal defense just lower than the Blackened crest. The Shield health is the same as the SSB.

Both have +6 Stun and Curse resist. (this way you can run fast and keep fighting)

The MSI, sword ASI, and sword attack power increase all are low.
(the 4star gives a -2 hp, and the 5star gives just a -1hp)

This shield works like a regular shield and DOES NOT give the striker boost that is in LD.

Enemies killed by the wielder of this shield are more likely to drop MSI orbs.
Shield bash inflicts enemies with the strongest possible stun (like when you get slammed by a lumber and can't move at all).

It is Alchemized up from the Swiftstriker buckler and uses a Snarbostuffing for each alchemization.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

The next one is the Recon Shield 5Star(Silencer's Shield), 4Star (Swift shadow)

The 5star shield has a normal defence equal to the Stone Tortoise. The Shield's Health is equal to that of the Heavy Plate Shield.

This shield has +6 stun and poison resist.

It has a CTR universal Low, Bomb CTR low, and a Gun ASI low. (The 4star has a Sword ASD low as, as well as bomb CTR low, and gun ASI low)
It gives a +0 HP boost.

The Shield defends attacks like a regular shield. It has the recon radar but the range is only %75 of the lockdown radius. Any enemy deathmarked only takes a damage increase of a small amount (4star increase would be equal to minor poison, 5star to moderate poison, there is no heal reversal with this effect).

Enemies naturally follow and attack the one who has dealt them the most damage, they also have a range of awareness (which is why you can run off a good distance and not be followed).

This Shield does not make you invisible but rather lowers your priority in the enemy AI (unless you are alone or have dealt more than %70 of the monster's damage) as well as allowing you to stay in the outer %30 of the enemy's awareness range without being targeted.

This shield is not used up but when shielding you have a MSD low applied, and will also take hits for you (unlike LD).

Enemies killed by the wielder of this shield are more likely to drop Damage buff orbs.
Shield Bash applies a full power deathmark and an weak stun.

This Shield is Alchemized up from the Drake Scale Shield and uses 1 Schemer Scrap.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Last we have the Guardian Shield 5Star (Crusader's Might), 4Star (Scarlet Heart).

The 5star Shield has a universal defense (all types) equal to the normal damage resistance of the Ancient Plate Shield. It has a +3 Status resist to all statuses (even sleep though it might never get used). The Shield health is equal to the Omega shell.

Both have a Bomb CTR low, Sword ASI low, Gun ASD low, as well as a +4 hp for the 5star shield (+3 hp for the 4star).
Both shields give a MSD of meduim.

This shield functions much like it's lockdown counterpart (one second after deployment will create a bubble around you that also can cover your allies, allowing your shield to take any hits they receive), the one difference is the range of the ally shield (Barely smaller than the LD shield for the 5star and the 4star shield has a range similar to that of a 4star haze bomb). Another difference is that this shield CANNOT heal allies, the Shield health regeneration is also slower. One final difference is the lack of knockback resistance.

Special Mechanic: If the user is standing on a HP regeneration tile (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/File:Exploration-Respawning_Hearts.png) then if the ally shield is up those within the shield regenerate health at a rate similar to the HP pads in the FSC (terribly slow though still viable)

Enemies killed by the wielder of this shield are more likely to drop Defense orbs.
Shield Bash deals moderate stun and a MSD debuff to the enemy.

This Shield is Alchemized up from the Scarlet Shield and requires 1 jelly glue and 1 rock salt.

I do hope you spent the time to read all of this, please feel free to point out anything that is unbalanced, wrong, or tell me if you have some other name suggestions.

All orbs dropped by enemies can not stack with naturally dropped orbs.

Edit: perks, status, and type resist changes
Mechanic changes.

Edit: Enemies killed by wielders of the shields drop certain Orbs (not of alchemy).
Special Shield bash added

Err...

There's a reason why the lockdown shields are not really used outside of lockdown, and that is because they are rather OP in their respective function.

My thoughts on these suggestions:

Striker modification is too viable. Don't stick every defensive stat on a shield to make it well rounded - make it protect against something special so that we want to use other shields. The boosts it gives would also allow us to reach MSI: Ultra, so that would be interesting.
I would say remove one or two damage resistances, buff the normal resistance a bit, and then make the shield half the time it takes for dodge to recharge. Perhaps give it freeze immunity.

Recon modification is too good. Either remove the status resistance or remove the the not-normal defenses. Alternatively, remove a bit of each. Reduce the recon pulse range by 50% of the original shield's distance. Instead of deathmarking enemies, on the second pulse apply a "defense down" debuff that stacks with disintegration ray. Pulls aggro to you quicker when not shielding, but reduces aggro on you while shielding(give or take 25%). Shield is not consumed while in use.

Guardian modification is too OP. There is really no downside to using it. Give it Grey Owlite Shield normal defense (with a normal medium UV added to it), and for all other damage types 1/2 of the elemental defense value. Give it immunity to fire and stun, +4 (a max UV) to poison and shock and +2 to any other remaining statuses. The user has a MSD: low penality, and time for dodge to recharge is increased by 50%. The little protection bubble is the same size as an angelic aura (fully upgraded or lowest level, doesn't really matter to me). The shield grants teammates within it a defense up boost (4 second duration) and invincibility(1 second), but also takes the hit for them. Shield also recharges 2x slower when broken, but has health just a little bit under the omega shield.

Hmm...

The recon would destroy Maskeraiths. What is the point in having an invisibility cloak with the Masker if you can just get a shield?

Striker... I'd say it would be too easy in Vanaduke, and would be too OP for normal usage. There is a reason it is only in Lockdown, and that is because a Striker Shield would pretty much make the game too easy, especially for gunners.

A Guardian Shield?! Considering what it would do in Vanaduke, people would camp in a corner with three Guardian shields and have one person spam Blitz at Vanaduke. That just doesn't seem right.

Now, IF these were part of one of my other ideas, Shadow Lair weapons and shield, then maybe. (I have yet to make a post for that, as I do not have the idea completed.

OP has been updated

@ Fangel

Status and type resist has been removed/nerfed. (depends on shield)

Perks and penalties have been altered

@ CarbonJinxmesa AKA Monoxide

Please read OP

The recon shield does not provide full invisibility which would make the Maskeraith superior.

The Striker lines have cruddy defenses and do not function like the LD counterpart. (also with the MSI ultra capability people would be in more danger from small lagspikes)

Guardian shield has low regeneration, and besides how is this less cheap than spamming Shivermist buster in the Vana Battle?

They look a bit better

But still have a few flaws. The striker shield is a bit underpowered now. I would recommend giving it one status immunity like freeze or stun so that players feel like they move faster anyways. Another idea would have movement speed not be affected by shielding, much like the lockdown recon shield. That alone would make it a shield that differs in mechanics than a current one. Perhaps even having the shieldbash do something unique, as we can apparently do that.

The recon shield is good for what it does. Maybe throwing shieldbash into it that makes the player invisible to enemies (like dodge does) while shieldbashing? It would fit into the shield. I would also say maybe having poison immunity would be good. These shields are made for utility, but it doesn't mean they can't actually be useful as a shield too.

I would still reduce specific damage type resistances down a bit more. Normal resistance is good to keep high, but all other types can have less than the normal resistance. Perhaps its shieldbash is essentially the tortodrone bash but also lowers enemy defenses? I mean, people rarely use shield bash as is so adding these new bashes would be great. And by 50% resist do you mean +4? Having a UV-related number we know of would be helpful.
Also if you want a unique bit, how about any health/status capsules used while in the shield by any teammate will spread to other teammates within the shield? That would make any coordinated team want to have at least one guardian shield with them for taking on new levels or shadow lairs.

@ Fangel

Curse and stun added for striker (you have teammates for freeze)

Stun and poison added for recon

Number clarification for guardian (+3)

I did add some shield bashes too.
_________________________________________________________

Instead of having HP sharing with guardian I went and made it so that enemies killed by a certain shieldbearer are more likely to drop Buff orbs

MSI for striker
DMG for recon
Defense for Guardian

Looks great!

I like it! The shields are viable as shields now as well as adding a little something extra to gameplay.

The shield bashes now reflect their lockdown counterparts other than the guardian shield. If the guardian shield's shieldbash ended like the tortodrone's one (with a second AoE hit/stun) but with a larger radius (3* blast bomb radius maybe), then it would reflect more of the "area of protection" that the shield showcases in lockdown. Striker shield has a PvE stunlock similarity, and recon gets a full deathmark.

The current idea is solid but here's another potential add-on:
Orb drop increases only affect your other party members. If someone else has a striker shield, you are more likely to get speed orbs. If everyone in the party has striker shields, everyone is more likely to have striker shields, with the chance multiplier increasing by 15% (5% per player). This also adds more teamwork into the shield choice.
