Let's make some speculations about what te green and blue minerals will be use for, cause at the moment, they're totally pointless. (And yes, you may have to use your brain, unless that creativity stuff comes easy to you)

They will be OOO's next big troll
OOO will hold them out as being completely useless for such a long time that people just never bother with them anymore. Eventually, even hardcore veterans will have almost none in their arsenals.
But then, OOO will come out with an update that lets you resurrect or create any item in the game, including Iron Dragon Wings, Zee Cores, and Darkfang Shields! The catch? You need 100,000,000 Valestone and Moonstone! So everyone starts grinding their butts off to get the minerals. The very second a person reaches 100,000,000 of one mineral then 99,999,999 of the other, an automatic hidden game code is activated that resets the update!
Then OOO rereleases the Rage Promo, claiming that something went wrong and great things were suppose to happen but it definitely glitched so everyone should be happy.

They could just continue to be used for nothing at all.
But in all likelihood, arcade redux (which could include building or feeding the core) or new battle sprites.

Idea!
There's a mineral deposit in the laboratory next to the artifact. during the gunners' update, maybe they'll open that up? I'm just thinking here.

I have done nothing but teleport bread for three days!
-Making Asterisks, so we can become Spiral Salve-Makers, Spiral Performers, Spiral Merchants and- most importantly- Spiral Ninjas.
-Making the old Shard Bombs without OOO noticing.
-Catapults. Somehow.
-Telescopes to go with our catapults. Somehow.
