Wear shadow defense instead

Wear shadow defense instead of chaos. That helps. Also a proper shield and not swiftstrike.

Dark Briar Barrage is ideal for fiend arenas. Really, it's my favorite anti-fiend weapon in general. The only problem is that you need to get the greavers interrupt-locked correctly. If they start getting the upper hand, then a piercing sword is much easier.

I don't care if you have ctr max, bombs are almost useless for soloing greavers because they'll hit you every time you try to charge. Heaven help you if there's anything BESIDES greavers shooting at you at the same time....

Oh hey this again.

I love the fiend arenas. After constructs, fiends are my favorite monster family. They're one of the only families who prove a challenge even to veteran players, and punish you for not wearing defense.

Great thing about fiends is that they are the easiest monster family to interrupt attacks. Devilite about to attack? Hit it with a sword. Griever flying towards you? Smack it with your divine avenger.

Personally I've been bringing a warmaster rocket hammer, alchemizer of choice (fire or shock), my dread venom striker, and a voltaic temptest to these arenas. If you can match a mist bomb with a dark briar barrage, your life in these arenas will be much easier.

skilled bombers

Skilled bombers can certainly solo greavers. I say this with confidence because I can solo greavers with bombs, and I am not an especially skilled bomber.

Here's What's Holding Me Back From NOT Doing Apocrea Runs:

-Fiends plus Arenas? Radiants and an ever so rare challenge!

Gorgos, devilites, and wings, all in one place? Time to use this rusty ol' Callahan!

We have been here before.

Here's the old griever complaint thread.

Personally I can deal with the grievers just fine. It's when the two other enemies show up in the final wave and start attacking me that I have problems.

It's hit or miss for me if I

It's hit or miss for me if I can manage Greavers, there's a few times where I can "stunlock" them with the DBB, but if I can't get the timing right I'm pretty much dead, hahah. I prefer that to something like the BTB since I can hit more of them at once with it.

My usual loadout has one piece of Chaos and my BKC, DBB level 10 so the CTR amounts to Very High, and that's fast enough to stunlock 'em. It'd probably be a lot easier with both pieces being Chaos, though.

I take someone isn't good with bombs...

Voltaic? shock status flinch that attack, anything with proper Tier dmg will flinch them... Voltaic or Ash of Agni.... or a well timed Nitronome... I instagib most wave with status bomb then spamming Nitronome...

Fiends are hard cuz they kill laggers... like me, sadly. Well they don't necessarily kill me, but fast enemies (like most of the monsters in the fiend family) and spammed projectiles are just too hard to avoid/block if you are on the red bar club. Specially devilites, their attacks are kinda predictable but they're so fast that even when you see it coming you have to shield before they rise their stapler (or whatever they choose to throw at you) or else they will hit you, even if you shielded before the hit. Another one is gorgos with their clumsy flying that makes them really hard to hit, and again lag makes it a lot harder.

IMO, fiends are not OP, yeah, they ARE harder than all the rest of the monsters, But it is the lag that really breaks them. (Still, OOO sure knows they are SoL eaters and thats why you see them almost everywhere in tier 3 depths and events... remember the stinky greaver spawners in the grinchling missions that everybody seemed to hate? and what a coincidence, fiends plague most of the levels on the shroud of apocrea mission too)

So for all the people that say the game is too easy, there you have it, get a crappy connection and you have your 4th game difficulty... call it "Lagcore" if you want, maybe OOO could save you the trouble and add the option, where the game would just increase the delay between your PC and the server :D lawl.

Greavers?

1) Go to a corner. Not to cry.
2) Whip out a Swift Flourith/Twisted Snarble Barb.
3) Start swiping and shield cancelling as if you were confronted by vicious, deadly fruit.

Gorgos?

1) Back up.
2) Unleash a Needle Shot charge.
3) Repeat.

Silkwings?

1) You're already screwed. That thing's attack is OP.
2) Holy heck why are you reading this I told you it's unstoppable screw the Swarm this thing will eat the Swarm for dinner.
3) It also eats 9812734 Sparks every time you die, even with the ER.

More seriously though, just shield bump it away and keep wailing on it while your team meatshield sorta not really helps.

I'm Tier 2... I don't have access to all of your suggested equipment.

Experienced players often speak in terms of 5-star items, because that's how you should plan your equipment, because that's where everything ends up. It's understood that you have to work your way up to them. For example, when I recommend Dark Briar Barrage, you should think, "Hey, maybe I should try the 3-star version of that." Cheers.
