is the ascended calibur good? should I go for cold iron carver? or ditch the calibur class and get 3 advanced orbs to evolve something else (or create something else)

You already have a thread, where you ask for equipment advice. Please just continue asking your questions in one thread.
In that other thread I mentioned my detailed sword guide. It advises you to select items based on their 5-star versions, because that's where everything ends up. So you are really asking about Leviathan Blade vs. Cold Iron Vanquisher. My sword guide offers a direct comparison between those two swords.
Also, in your other thread you said that you were getting a shadow sword (which is good). You might want to get an elemental gun or normal gun, to complement that shadow sword. This kind of choice is described in the Mixing Weapon Types section of my sword guide.
You see, the questions you're asking are all very standard, frequently asked questions. That's why people like me write the answers down and refer you to those answers --- so that we don't have to re-type the same answers over and over again on these forums. Cheers.

Move over, there's bubble-wrap to be popped!
It has a good combo of speed and knockback, and is easy to get. I would recommend it
As for Cold Iron Vanquisher, don't bother with that, it's useless compared to Levi

The Cold Iron Carver is hardly a useful sword. It doesn't do more than look cool. The Ascended Calibur is better, but there are still better sword options out there. One benefit to going with the Ascended Calibur is that it'll be cheaper since you're given all the recipes from the rank missions. What do you use as your other weapons? If you use multiple swords, then there's no point to getting an Ascended Calibur. If you use a gun and a sword, the Normal damage may prove useful.
