They are not working on these
They are not working on these things "instead of" the gunner update - there are two different teams, the art for the gunner update is done and has been done for a long time. It's the programmers/developers who are doing the final adjustments and changes, something the art team cannot help with. Rather than sitting on their bums and doing nothing, they're producing promo items and new accessories, which is literally helping pay the bills right now.
I've said it a dozen times already but I would much rather have a promo every two weeks than the announcement that the game has to shut down due to a lack of income. These things cost money to run.

I second this.
Of course, because who needs stupid buffed iron slug or freeze polaris when you can have accessories that will severely reduce the self estime of your enemy in both PvE and PvP?
