I was wondering if it was possible to farm love puppies for true love lockets on the part in operation crimson hammer with the respawning gun puppies, because i found a love puppy there once. Or perhaps the love puppy was already there, and the chance to replace gun puppies was only on the initial spawn?

What Dibs said, respwaning enemies can only drops hearts. But even that rarely happens. Unless heart attack is used. :)

Would that even be plausible? Even if it did work true love lockets only go for like 200k cr? Something like that? So you sit there smashing gun puppies until you get one that heals you and then you do that until it drops the 200k cr. That sounds to me like a lot of small chances that could be you just playing the game instead of wasting your life smashing the same mob 50,000 times for potentially a handful of crowns per mob killed.

You would make more money by finishing Crash site over and over than killing respawning mobs for few months. And yes, respawned mobs do drop rare items, I've seen someone that dropped trinket in unaccessible area in FSC in Puppy rooms.
I believe it's possible to farm them, however re-spawning enemies don't drop items and I doubt Love Puppies would be an exception to this rule.
