Reposted cuz nobody reads the arsenal forum (yet? Is it new?):

As the two piercing damage swords out there, which one do you think is better? Jitsu wa I've only every used flourish but snarbly barb seems kind of interesting, what with it's projectile.

I haven't even seen it used, but it basically seems like it might be a flourish that shoots things. Is there any advantage to using the flourish over the barb at all?

If anyone's used both and has any input that would be lovely :)

I've only snagged the 2* but its a range attack that has a wide radius with short/med range. Not sure how wide/long the range is at 5* though. Flourish on the other hand you have to propel yourself into the enemy.

I'm confused. Are you talking about the charge attack lost4now?
If so, are the normal attacks any different? I rather do like my flourish charge, but the barb's sounds like it could be interesting as well.
Mainly however, I was concerned with the normal attack damage. Are they exactly the same? Is one sword faster? Let me know if you know :)

It seems to me that everything is exactly the same about the two swords except for the charge attack. Although there might be a small damage difference (I haven't tested it yet) but I doubt its big enough to care about.

Well, To me the new series is better then flourish do to the unique charge attack, which on the flourish leaves you easily opened for attacks, the snarble is a single projectile hit. I personally prefer the new one over flourish. I've already got the 4* version Dark Thorn Blade. In fact, Its my picture on the wiki for that blade as I was the first to obtain and upload its image. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Dark_Thorn_Blade

Just be aware that the Snarbly Barb charge seems to do significantly less damage than the flourish charge (judging from the 2* charge; could someone with the 5* post normal swing+charge damage numbers?). if you like brandish charges you'll like it though.

@ Abhorsen55 Same distance

@ Abhorsen55

Same distance lunge on normal attacks. Seems like same speed also. Note to add though, the charge attack does knock back (not sure how far though).

Seems to me, snarbly barb

Seems to me, snarbly barb would be advantageous in kiting situations. I imagine the 5 star charge attack of the snarbly barb would be wide enough/fast enough to hit dodging wolvers/devilites (especially since hitting them with the charge at close range does extra damage+knockback, like the DA charge). That being said, fiends and beasts are the hardest to kite, and I will be interested to see how the 5 star snarbly barb works vs t3 wolvers/devilites when I get the last 2 recipes...
