I need some help choosing my weapons. I an expandable set for any situation (a normal weapon and a sidearm or something), because to be honest, in this game I am poor. I kind of want to get a toxic needle, for the psn, but I am bad at the coliseum, but great ap PvE. If I do end up getting the needle, I won't bring it up past 3* (until I have enough to justify it), and use another weapon (open to suggestions). I don't want to get a psn bomb, because the only thing I am worse at than coliseum, is bombing. I prefer guns to any other weapon, because they allow me to stay back, but it is the opposite with bombs. Next, I use the angelic helmet, so I don't know if I should go with crown of the fallen or the valkyrie helmet. Answers are greatly appreciated
questions on my loadout
You can probably buy a toxic needle from the AH (even then the power isn't that good and the fact that it roots you to the ground is also bad the poison can be useful).
For bombs you just need practice, grab a fiery vaporizer a demo suit and try luring monsters into the bomb haze rather than bringing the bomb to them.
The only other guns that poison are the Toxic Catalyzer (is a boss item from roarmulus and has slow bullets) and the Obsidian carbine (low poison chance plus it's a 5star event item).
The helm question is answered by what you have more trouble with? If fiends trouble you go for Valkyrie (but watch out for fire), if fire troubles you the Crown of the fallen is good and provides a nice fire and shadow resist (useful in FSC even with the fiend penalty).

You might actually be decent at PVP but since everyone there has HP trinkets, special very high UVs, and damage boosting armor even the most skilled players are at a serious disadvantage.
As Blazzberry said, please move this thread to the Arsenal forum (by editing the original post and choosing that forum from the drop-down menu).
Have you read the Gunslinger Guide on the wiki? It's not very good, but it can help you plan a gunner loadout. (Or did you want a hybrid sword-gun loadout? Then try my detailed sword guide.)
There is no reason to upgrade your Angelic Helmet. Switch to a gun-oriented armor, such as Shadowsun. You might say, "But I'm already invested in this alchemy line to 4 stars!" That doesn't matter. The cost of upgrading from 4 to 5 stars, and heating the 5-star item, is vastly larger than your total cost so far. In other words, you're much less than halfway to a complete 5-star item. Don't "throw good money after bad".
When choosing a gun, keep in mind that the big "gunner update" may come in the next few months. It will rebalance the guns somewhat, and introduce new guns.
Thank you for all of the replies, and i will move this forum to the correct location. I will try my hand at bombing again, and i am only starting out so i will change my armor (maybe) I do like my set, because by 3* I already have resistance to all of the damage types, by using drake and angel. I'll most likely get the shadow sun stetson, but if I am able to bomb, then i will see what i want to get, again thank you all,

Hate to argue but the Fallen set makes for a decent hybrid set, with a universal Med ASI and defenses against 2 of the more common endgame dangers (fire/shadow) this set is quite viable.
I do agree that the Shadowsun set is very nice for guns and is probably the best current gun only set, but for hybrid play Fallen also puts up a good argument.
Bopp also warns against alchemizing bad gear, I concur, try to research the gear to see if it gets better enough to justify crafting, you should also consider your playstyle.
Alchemers, divine avenger, antiguas, and certain other weapons actually can be more useful at 5star rather than 4stars (well placed alchemer charges can deal devastating damage, Divine avenger charges are capable of monstrous damage against the Roarmulus twins, Antigua charges; with some forethought; can clear hallways and snipe enemies). Though this means you rely on charges, if you don't then the 4stars would do more damage with regular attacks.
Blasters, irontechs, Faust, and certain weapons are better off at 4star since they do the same damage as a lvl 8 5star and get no enhanced charge abilities (blasters stay the same, faust line never used for charge, irontech doesn't get increased range)

Using a mixed armor set should be ok for now but once you start to learn what level titles mean you can specialize your armor. Your set should be Ok at a "Wolver den High Voltail" but a mercurial mail set trumps what you have on defenses and status for that level.
PS. never trust Compound titles, you can go on a "ravenous warrens" and see nothing but mecha knights and lumbers until the very last part.
Fallen offers good defense, and the ASI bonus is nice.
The problem with Fallen is its large and inexplicable damage penalty against fiends. A damage penalty against beasts wouldn't be so bad, because beasts are so easy. But fiends are considered by many players (including me) to be the hardest monster family in the game. I certainly don't want my armor to hinder me against them. What's even worse is that Fallen protects against shadow damage. So it's intended for use against undead and fiends, but it stinks against fiends? Arggh!
I definitely side with Bopp on this one... Fallen is almost certainly one of those armor sets that just really needs something. It has worse defenses than comparable sets (vog, volc demo, divine), and random penalties that condemn it when you would otherwise need it most; i.e. curse weakness for UFSC and fiend weakness for the hardest mobs. It is a fairly decent first set for FSC because you can resist everything up to the boss where your party will presumably carry you (which is natural; it takes a few rounds of flailing about watching your party to get Vanaduke down), but after that it will almost always be worse than the alternative class armor or chaos combo.
The other bit that Bopp said was also very much correct. There is a slim chance that if you're playing this time next year, there will be a line of promotions and events that will lead to a big gunner update the year after. It would be wise of you to spoil everything by reading what people have written about in the testing feedback forum regarding potential new handguns, and plan around that.
thank you again, and I will start to plan my loadout accordingly, and a special thanks to Bopp for her suggestions
Short of using your pet perk to cover that hole ( though few actually experiment with pet perks because almost all I ever see are healthy boosts ), Fallen set does fare pretty bad against fiends, though it is safer to use against fire themed ones compared to Valkyrie. Also while Vanaduke is classified as fiend he isnt affected by UVs or armor boosts thus Fallen is decent for him too (though for the best defense grab a Volcanic plate sheild).
Due to the penalty it could be considered an undead specialist armor with a healthy side of power against nearly everything else.
I picked mercurial mail as my first 5star set (LOL didn't plan ahead) and while it lacks in damage bonuses and resistances to my least favorite status (fire) it got me through some tough spots with its MSI.
Hey there.
First you need to move this thread to the appropriate sub forum.
Next, it wouldn't hurt to give us an idea of what you currently have like weapons, armor, helms, and shields. I imagine you don't go around punching monsters with your tiny fists.
