I already posted this on technical support, but there have been 10-20 posts about it a day on the kong forum, so I feel it deserves some extra representation so I'll post it here aswell.
Hey, I used to play Spiral knights a lot in the past and eventually got pretty far (4 star gear, 5 star weapons) and decided to start back up when I heard it's all on steam now. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer my kong account to my steam.
I know there's a way to do so with other account types (like those hosted on Spiralknights.com) , but none of them seem to work with kong accounts, as they use a system where the knights name is actually linked the user kong account, making it something like *Kong#####" so I can't actaully sign in on the sign in page because it doesn't tell you your password.
I've heard some game devs say there were working on a way to do it on the steam forums, but there's been no word since. They did say it was hard, so I came up with the idea that they could get some kind of automated system to email you your kong id (Kong#####) and password (whatever string of digits that may be) to the user's synced email address.
If there are any game devs on this forum I'd be really appreciative if you implemented this (or found another way to transfer) so i'd be able to take advantage of the features steam has, like easy dlc downloads and voicechat, with my actual account.
I've seen this posted so many times, that it genuinely feels like the dev team is actually ignoring it.

I think this belongs in suggestions. to move a thread, edit your first post, dropdown menu, click suggestions, and save. please don't leave a shadow copy.
and yeah, I think it's something about randomly generated passwords on entry, so they would need to retrieve your password from the host site (in your case kong) and then merge your account with steam. I think this process has lots of problems and right now the devs are concentrating on guns and not on the game "ports".
