So, does a low dmg bonus and a low special dmg bonus has a different? (special dmg bonus, such as dmg bonus for beasts, fiend, etc)
About damage bonus and special damage on swords/sprite's perks for sword
However, one weapon/monster armors tend to be more defensive than Chaos or BKC, plus your pet's monster perks are universal with weapons while your damage perks are universal with families.
That being said a Fiend perk provides more damage against fiends than a regular damage perk, this means that you can use an armor that resists that floors status while pulling decent numbers against the fiends there.
This is all a bit situational too, a WHB needs only a sword med to get max beast damage, thus a Snarby/skolver set wouldn't get any more beast damage with WHB than a wolver armor set with a WHB.
WHB's beast bonus and CIV's undead bonus are +3, not +4. So you need +3 from other sources, to max them out.
Other naturally gifted weapons are Sun and Salt Shard bombs which have a +4, there are the Sentenza and Argent Peacemaker which have a +2.
No. All sources of damage bonus have equally large effects. See the wiki page "Abilities", to learn all about the various kinds of bonuses you can get, how much effect they have, etc.
The only difference between one damage bonus and another is its scope: which weapons it affects, and which targets it affects. From most desirable to least desirable:
* Some sources of damage bonus affect all weapons and all targets: Chaos, Black Kat Cowl, etc.
* Some sources affect just one weapon type (Shadowsun, Skolver, etc.) or one monster type (Deadly Virulisk, etc.).
* Some sources affect just one weapon against just one monster type: damage UVs on weapons, WHB's beast bonus, etc.
