Dumb Question - Knight's Gender

Here's a dumb question that's probably pointless but I'm asking anyway - How do you tell your knight's gender?

Like there's no gender selection on the creation, however you can make them look like a boy or girl with the type of armor. Like how the one in my profile avatar looks female and looks like she has hair put up in pig tales. But if I change my armor I could make her look male instead of female.

Obviously the alien species that the knights are have no gender, but still. They can make themselves look feminine or masculine so they must have some preferences for themselves.

I just find it kinda funny, XD.

Simple but sexist

Spiral tailed helm or any other pony tailed helm and any raiment or dresses; accessories: ribbon, love aura, flowers
this makes people think you're a girl

every other armor/costumes make you a boy.

I personally wear raiment from the angelic set because I'm just holy that way :3

Well, looks aren't everything. Bechamel is referred to as male in the mission text for one of the 'time to go shopping' missions. I'm also fairly sure that Desna is female, despite being about the same size as feron (I got this from her armour being having the '-fem' suffix in it's filename)

There was this discussion when the sarongs came out, and it has also been discussed many times before. I find it interesting that people worry about how to make their knight look a certain gender when it really shouldn't matter, we're all spiral knights and can look good however we want!
Knights are an extremely diverse 'race' after all. I mean, we can go from as tiny as Kora to someone as big as Arkus.

Trojan-height modifers pls

Knights aren't fully alien, they're more like humanoids.

You forgot Sarongs too, those are obviously female attire. With a length that short, it's obviously geared toward females. I mean, generally speaking, girls tend to WANT to make themselves look all cutesy and more dressed up :PThis is coming from an actual girl (lol) and my main knight is also a girl who had many, many costumes. C: But regarding amour and stuff, I rather have my costumes over the armour since it looks far more appealing than more "manlier" gear. Also, sometimes the gear just doesn't look good together. :P

ahah, yeah I guess Gender

ahah, yeah I guess Gender doesn't matter at all. Also I have completely forgotten the few times they have used he and she pronouns in the mission text.
However I still think they do not have a gender, but it would be rude to call someone an it, y'know? Being male or female could be what the knights just prefer to be identified as.

It's pretty cool cause the player can make them be whoever they want them to be. Kinda like another character of a game series Sega has produced...

Yes, I do agree, but the general population of video games are males, so people always just call each other by "he". If not, it's usually known (lol) and then corrected, then both parties are happy^^ Th e English language is hard to come by though with gender neutral pronouns... "They" or "it". "It" just sounds rude, and most people just generalize back to "they" being a male, like how I stated previously. But hey, who knows, it's pretty hard to tell over just reading text all the time.

It's just a game after all; we should just have fun with it :)

Life and Death

Mortality is something extremely evident in this game but how the knights came to be is a question that has not been answered. Regardless the answer (whether cloning, building, or some organic style of reproduction) someone could likely get offended.

Also keeping this a secret greatly lowers the chance of "unsavory" fanart.

"Unsavory"
All art is beautiful. Just because you find it odd doesn't mean it is in another's. Look at the Greeks and Romans, their statues look quite odd in the modern era, but they were considered amazing in their eyes. It's quite obvious of the certain artist in which you dislike, but an artist's mind is only their own. They decide what they want their image to look like after all, since they are creating the images.

I personally use 'they' and 'them' as gender neutral when it is needed.

How2notoffendpeoples:
"I heard he got CTR VH on his Combuster, good for him."
"I heard she got CTR VH on her Glacius, good for her."
"I heard they got CTR VH on their Voltedge, good for them."

(Used brandishes because they're even overpowered in sentences)

I've been wearing a serene culet & tailed helm (Occasionally even a sarong/kat hat) and called 'he' consistently. Videogame communities huh.

Armor and Gender

It is unknown if Knights have a gender but they likely don't. A Knights strength is determined by what armor we wear. Each armor piece we wear determines our strengths and weaknesses. Spiral Knights appear to just be energy like creatures with a few different energy colors. Gender could be a choice for each knight. There is armor that clearly looks like it is made for guys and we have armor that looks like it is made for girls and some armor that could work for both.

Each knight can choose what armor to wear. So if a Knight picks armor that looks like it is for guys that is how they will likely be identified. If a Knight picks armor that is for girls then that is how they will likely be identified. Either way the gender of a Knight does not really matter that much. Seems more likely each knight chooses their own gender though.

my 34 cents

I still believe that spiral knights must be a sexually dimorphic species, after all, I don't expect knights to reproduce via asexual reproduction or binary fission. And if you don't know what asexual reproduction and binary fission are, let's just say that is how earth worms, malaria parasite and most single celled organisms reproduce, seems really un befitting for a group of organisms that are as sentient as spiral knights.

No.

They might be quick-silvers. There was a theory about that. Like how we can change our body's to a robot without a leg to, a normal knight. knights might not have any body whatsoever.

That actually may not be true. It's a wiki, anyone can edit it.

Also, the materials a described for humans, not knights. It says some is ___. But they never say that in relation to knights. We have no idea what they feel, and therefore that wiki page is invalid.

Nah

It's user created, so it's not severely wrong, not is it severe in any other way.

The admins probably don't care about it too much. But they might, so I dunno. But who says we're organic? They're no proof behind THAT. (No mat link)

@Avenger-Of-Troy

Ok... so if we follow your train of logic that, unless it specifies "knight," it doesn't apply to knights...

Well first of all, knights clearly eat, otherwise why do we have chefs that make caek every now and then (albeit with varying levels of success)? According to Rocky Cores, knights have teeth that can break. In the Royal Jelly Recon Module, Parma says she can smell smoke and it's implied she can hear the grinding of gears. At the entrance to the core, Parma mentions that when Grantz was grabbed by the swarm "he said it felt like both fire and ice".

So you can either say we are very complicated forms of machinery that heavily mimics organic life... Or we just assume that knights are organic due to a series of logical assumptions.

Now if we turn the question around, is there any evidence that states Knights are inorganic?
