I must have the worst luck ever or something seems every time I log on and join/start a gate BAM server going down in 30 minutes (or less if I log in between warnings) and sure that's ample time to finish up what I'm doing however it's not a very professional way to run things. Would it hurt to schedule updates, patches, maintenance and bug fixes like put on the main page "Today server will be going down at ___ we will be doing ___ and it's expected to last ___ mins/hrs/days." The only time I could understand server going down on the fly like that is if it was an emergency like some game breaking bug needed to be patched right away.
Been playing online games for well over ten years now and pretty much all of the games I played scheduled their crap so I'd suggest OOO do the same.
Bug-fixes like this are usually labeled as ''unscheduled maintenances''.
However I believe that normal maintenances for content should have some sort of schedule, as well as be announced on the website. The website isn't used for much currently.
Though I can understand that a brand new game probably wouldn't have any schedule, or ''flow'', as far as maintenances go. Maybe given a bit of time it'll go by an actual schedule.
