For the longest time, that source of light in the sky that settles over every Haven instance never really gets my attention. But rather than that, I have been secretly wanting for a day and night time within haven, associated junctures, and clockworks with the effect of the time of day taking root on enemy and level appearance; e.g. the day progresses twice as fast throughout the game or different havens introduce you to different cycles of the day. Either way, the question now stands;

What effect would a day and night cycle within all of cradle have on the gameplay?
Would it generate certain enemies more frequently than it may with others?
Would the Lichen's Lair actually have sunlight for once (not a serious question)?
Would there be NPCs that show up only at certain times during the day?
Would the opportunities available for some knights be unavailable for others?
What other questions could come about from this imagined scenario?

These are some of the things I ponder along side of the source of light reflecting off of the quicksilver helmets. But that is a topic for another time.

If you watch the moving backgrounds within the clockworks, you might notice that the light there is artificial (search the forums for "Skydomes").

As for haven itself (on the surface), I hypothesize (as well as others) that Haven's geographic location coincides with the axis of the planet's rotation. This axis of rotation is also aimed at the light source - thus giving the outcome of perpetual light. However, there are specific events that "block" out Haven's sun which can also be explained by the planet passing through a significant quantity of space-dust.

The question I have for you is:
How far into the interesting lore (aka old forum threads) are you willing to delve into?

Move over, there's bubble-wrap to be popped!

If night came, and light in the clockworks wasn't artificial, that could only mean one thing would happen...

To be perfectly honest, I'd be fine if it had no effect on gameplay. It would just reinforce the whole realtime persistent worlds thing.
