Chapter 1 - The Fall of Order

-------------------------------------------------
Prologue - Part 1

“There once was a king. He ruled over a small yet beautiful kingdom. Rivers flowed like emeralds gleaming under the mellow sunlight, lush green as far as the eye can see. Two other nearby kingdoms felt envy, and decided to work together to take over the beautiful kingdom. From atop his castle, the king can only watch as his land gets decimated by invading armies. The king fled from his castle and went to the mountains for divine intervention.“

“He tirelessly searched, for years without end, until he found a massive cave, rather hot, filled halfway with ashes. On the far side sat a blackened shrine. He prayed to the shrine, first whispering, and then gradually increasing in volume, until he was shouting. The king was on the verge of tears, he remembered his family, friends, people, getting killed right in front of his very eyes. The shrine glowed hot, and so does the soot he was in. The heat seeped in his body, his eyes, his face, slowly morphing him from the man he once was. Clad in steel as his skin, given a molten scepter on his hands, mobs of fiends following him wherever he wished to go, he was a god.”

“He went back with his army of death, engulfing everything in a blazing inferno, killing every soul. In a day everything was ashen, eternal flames lingering and burning like it was the rage of the king itself. He sat on his blackened throne; not letting anything enter his once prosperous kingdom ever again, for it is the only action that would let the king redeem himself of his mistakes.”

As the pages ended, I closed the rather thin picture book, placing it gently on the wooden round table. The title “The Tale of the Fiery King” was engraved on the hard leather cover. It was a classic folk tale almost everyone across Almire knew. I stood up and walked towards the window, the wooden floor slightly creaking as took each step. Mellow sunset sunlight was seeping through the opening. I could feel a soft evening breeze brush my face as I pulled open the glass pane.

The sun was slowly setting on the horizon, covering the stone and wood buildings of Almire with a blanket of orange, birds flying through the array of clouds above it. Beyond the city buildings was a huge prairie, covered with a lush blanket of grass, a wide river running through it, slowly turning into a forest the further my eyes went. The un-evenness of the landscape formed hills of green here and there. A huge mountain range could be seen on the horizon.

The sunlight gradually faded, evening turned into night. I closed the window shut and walked back towards the round wood table on which my gear was placed. My modest cottage of wood and stone was gently lit by the fireplace on the middle of the room, as well as oil lamps lined up on the walls. I donned my ivory white armor and helmet, strapped my lance and shield on my back and headed out. Walking down the hill my cottage was built on, I headed towards the Almirian Grand Citadel that stood proud on the city center, its wide open courtyard of stone surrounded by buildings and houses that are now brightly illuminated by warm night lights.

Damn, another awesome read, I really wished that my writting skill was better, but sadly, language was never my strong point, not even in my native language.

I can sense the Jamais Vu theme here...

ps. hmm, is it me, or is it most fan fic writters out there prefer humble protagonist? I always like mine hot and heavy! Micheal Bay style! With Metal Gear Solid philosophies sprinkled in.

@Midnight-Dj Thanks for reading! :3 I'm glad you enjoyed it. Well anyways, this is probably it for today, but now, tis time for part 2~
-------------------------------------------------
Prologue – Part 2

I entered the Grand Citadel’s courtyard. The other guards were already in formation, donned in the same ivory white uniforms all the guards wore. I took position in the rear. Before long, the courtyard of stone was gradually filled with more and more guards, taking position as the others did, some talking to each other. The head guard stepped up the stone platform, got into position and stomped the stone floor to take everyone’s attention. Everyone grew silent, heads straight, bodies stiff.

“Good evening men” The rather old knight roared in a hoarse voice, he cleared his throat before he continued, “As always you will be stationed all around the city for night patrol. Some of you will be stationed on the outskirts of the city to welcome the expedition knights that will be arriving tonight. that’s all, dismissed”

Finishing his speech, the head guard stepped down the platform with a clunk. Everyone else rowdily dispersed and went to their respective stations. Soon afterwards, the before crowded courtyard was now empty. I walked on the now empty cobblestone roads of Almire, the lance on my right hand and my shield on my left, passing by oil lamp posts lined up on the sides, brightly yet gently shining, houses left and right.

It was dead silent, save the occasional gusts of cold night wind and dampened, soft voices and sounds coming from the insides of the houses. The dark, cloudy skies contrasted the brightly illuminated landscape below.

Hours passed. I was on my final run around the city before ending my shift. Most buildings already had their lights dimmed as the citizens dozed, the roads being even more silent than before, cold cobblestone roads only illuminated by warm, gentle lights from the lamp posts. The gusts of wind stopped blowing.

Silence

Dead silence

From the corner of my eye, I saw something fall from the sky, brightly burning, breaching the clouds, slowly but surely zooming towards the ground. My thoughts froze, body grown stiff, eyes locked towards the object.

“!!”

An explosion breached the silence. Smoke and cinders rose from the distance. A strong gust of wind suddenly blew across the street, along with a slight shaking of the ground. Startled citizens went out of their homes, the road gradually filling up with people, confused. Suddenly, more objects started falling, like shooting stars, two to three at a time. On where they landed they caused havoc, the ground shook violently at their wake. The skies were slowly filled with black smoke and burning cinder, the air smelling like burning sulfur. The people panicked, scurrying and screaming here and there, filling the roads, carrying away their goods and their young from the ever spreading inferno.

Prologue – Part 3

“Please, help me..!”

“My daughter is in there—no! My baby-y!!”

Screams

Chaos

Death

Buildings on fire left and right, people with their treasures and loved ones panicking, screaming, despairing, rioting the cobble roads, nobles and peasants alike, crashing on my shoulders as they ran. Skies clouded with a sea of black smoke and burning cinders, the inferno fueled by the night breeze. Yet I stood there, frozen in the midst of heat, trying to understand the chaos right before my eyes—

Tremors

From the cloud of smoke of the burning buildings came out a silhouette of a behemoth, about ten houses away from where I stood. The closer it moved the clearer the picture. With each step the ground shook, louder and louder, as every shaking of the ground brought it closer to where I was.

The behemoth was about ten knights tall, thick ominous dark violet smoke came out of its entire body, enveloping it, concealing its features. Two giant arms, two humongous legs. On its top was two brightly shining violet lights, blazing through the ominous smoke, gazing at everything with deathly intent. Around me the panicking citizens became silent, frozen in place in the sight of the beast. All I could hear was the sound of fire raging and dampened screams from the distance.

It stopped, about five houses away, the air still stiff as ice. With a low growl, it opened its mouth. Soft violet light grew gradually brighter from it. Several seconds passed, my mind snapped back. Eyes focused, the once dampened sounds flooded my ears.

“Everyone! Get out of the way!!” I roared as loud as possible as I slammed my body to the side, hitting the edge of the cobblestone road. The behemoth suddenly released a beam of bright purple, dark smoke rose from its wake, running along the road.

I got up not waiting for the smoke to clear. Getting sight of the nearest citizen, lying helpless on the ground, I rushed to him. His white clothes where charred along his shoulders, revealing the gaping burn wound that glowed in a hue of purple. Suddenly, his eyes opened—

“!!”

Both hands were stuck on my throat. His eyes were empty, glowing violet, gazing at mine. His fingers started to dig on my neck. I took the shield on my hand, bashed his head with all my might. With his hands letting go, I bashed him one more time, this time sending him flying across to the other side of the road.

wh-what… was that…

My heart started racing in anxiety. He looked dead. Brushing the thought away, I got up as the smoke cleared. Three, no five, Almirians, two peasant women, three worker men, leered at me with empty, violet eyes, their gaping wounds glowing purple, poised to strike.

Prologue – Part 4

I held my shield over my body, fastened my grip on the lance on my right. Instincts took over, time slowed, sounds dampened, sight sharp. The two peasants pounced at me with violet eyes like feral beasts, one after the other. With all my strength, I held my shield back and bashed the first in midair. She flew towards the side, crashing into one of the burning houses.

The second one was charging on my right flank, both hands tensed like claws. With my shield still on the air, I took a sidestep to the left to dodge her flying hands. My left hand gripping the shield zoomed from the left, flying through the air, and with the edge of the shield I bashed the woman’s neck towards the ground.

N-Not even a scream

Silent, like corpses

My body shivered at the thought, heart beating faster as I put all my strength on my feet to get back up—

A low growl

My eyes took a sharp turn up, being reminded of the presence of the behemoth. Its mouth was open, violet light gradually getting brighter inside—

“!!”

Leaving my shield, I kicked the stone below me hard with my left foot, sending my body flying across towards the right, slamming myself once more unto the edge of the road. The violet beam barely touched my body by the skin of the teeth, once again covering the road with pitch black smoke.

I stabbed my lance to the stone below, using it to get back on my feet. Enveloped in darkness, I staggered forward. The smoke thinned, I could hear running footsteps coming closer and closer. A silhouette of a man—no, bright violet eyes pierced the thinning smoke around me. With both hands I held my lance up—

“Gahh!!”

A sharp pain went through my abdomen. Glancing downwards, I saw a hand pierced through my ivory armor, into my flesh. Following it was the man, eyes dead, lips silent. With his right hand still dug in, he grabbed me with his other hand and slammed his entire body on mine. I was sent flying about two houses away from where I was .

Lying flat on the ground, using all my might to raise my head up, I glanced on my abdomen. A gaping wound, glowing purple. Moving my eyes slightly, I saw the man who attacked me turn away and started running the opposite direction, towards the cloud of smoke and cinders. The behemoth took one last gaze on me, then like the man sank into the sea of chaos.

The pain worsened, draining my strength. Losing hope, I rested my head on the stone road, looking up towards the sky.

Finally...

Prologue – Part 5

The sky was clear, devoid of clouds. The image was fade, it was a monstrous construct of turning cogs and metal, the center of it glowed blue, filling up the entirety of the sky. The moon beside it was dwarfed by its size, like a shed to the Grand Citadel. From it burning objects fell, continuing to bombard burning inferno below.

Sounds around me gradually dampened to the point of silence, my sight giving in to the dark. After what felt like hours on end, I saw a construct of metal fly over me. Turning my head to the side, I felt heavy winds brush my numb body as it landed about three houses away. The construct opened, from the monstrosity came out men covered in fur, like rats on hind legs. They grinned with menace, chattering away while coming closer towards my near dead body. Their hands clawed on my armor, dragging me back in the hunk of metal they came out from.

The construct rose higher and higher, bringing me closer to the monstrosity above. Lying helpless on the cold, metal floor, I saw through the wide opening I came in from the Grand Citadel burning bright orange, buildings around it suffering the same fate. I could hear a chorus of screams, people in despair. Tens of behemoths raided the town with its murderous violet beams, people with dead violet eyes pouncing innocent others. Turning my gaze, I saw rat-men going out from a cottage on the hill, with them a leather book, going inside a construct similar to the one I was on.

Like a window, the opening slowly was closed by a plate of metal. My vision went dark, sounds deafened, senses dead. Darkness consumed me.

-

For how long have I stood here, unmoving, petrified in stone, a lance and shield in hand, waiting. The humming and turning of massive pieces of metal filled the air. Around me was a barren wasteland, gray and dead, tombstones littered the place. We were placed here, like dolls in a dollhouse, made to play out a never-ending play by our monstrous captors, a massive construct of worlds upon worlds. We could only watch, as the darkness inside us controlled our bodies, forcing it to fight, against our will.

Then, from the descending elevator came out aliens, donned in shining armor of metal and cloth, wielding weapons and shields on both their arms; warriors, no, knights, just as I once was. As they got closer, my body started to move, my lance against their blades, my mind just observing the ensuing battle, enduring the pain.

As their blades pierced my heart, my mind drifted. The darkness will only bring me back, forced to fight and suffer all over. Dear knights, I beg you, end this world, as they did to ours and many others, and free us from this eternal cycle of pain and despair.

Hmm, as much as this prolouge does not fit the official fan lore, it is still okay, after all it is your story. Almirian civilization probably have gone extinct long before Gremlins were evolved from their quadrepedal ancestors.

WUT, midnight, R U saying that Gremlins are related to wolvers?!

Judging by the fact that Gremlins have many similar characteristics with wolvers (fur, ears, canines and predatorial body design), I don't think this evolution idea is far fetched.

I think you may need one hell of a reason why the Gremlins were able to turn almirian knights into mindless zombies and they were hoping to achieve.

With that been said, here is an app:

Name: Avelan Renkens

Personality: skeptical, likes to study things that he doesn't know, hopeless when it comes to women.

Bio: Avelan Renkens fell in love with cradle's ever changing land scape as soon as he landed on this mechanical marvel. One of Wegner's best senior student in geological studies, Avelan had the previlidge to go on many expeditions into cradle's mechanical inners. Avelan is a pacifist as he never fight, only on occasions when he had to defend him self, but most of the time he was ultimately saved by others.

Physical Features: Avelan wears standard issued geo knight armor with a hood, providing cold and heat protection as well as comfort for a multidute of different environment. Avelan isn't a fighter and have hard time swinging heavy swords or using heavy guns, but thankfully, he run really fast.

Combat Gear: tempered calibur, defender shield, super blaster

Other Stuff: despite from been useless in combat, Avelan does have a arsenal of geographer tools at his diposal, altitude sensor, substance analyzer, life sigh detectors and night visions. He is a very useful team member is he was used correctly, especially in an mystery investigation.

Juust passing through~

I don't intend to faithfully stick to the official fanlore (or the game really). Consider this my tiny little reboot of the spiralverse, a reimangining if you will. (Whew nice excuse there *high fives myself*)

Aanyways, thanks for the app, glad you didnt apply something like an overly manly man that kills things just by staring or something like that. Look forward to your character's flashy entrance micheal bay style... Maybe...

heres an app

Name: Leo Stryder

Personality: Laid back, calm, doesn't hold a grudge, never takes offense. He tends to point out what's wrong with a plan, more so than what's right.

Bio: Leo was born on Isora, but his first memories were on skylark. When he landed on cradle, he became a scout. Getting info on an area and getting out undetected. He trained as a gunner, and has a near perfect aim. Although it takes him a second or two to line up the shot.

Physical Features: Sunset Hat, Sunset Duster, no accessories.

Combat Gear: Silversix, Isoran Crossbow (One shot clip, reloads quickly. Added scope and sights for longer range.)

Other Stuff: No matter where or when, Leo always likes to have a way out. He doesn't believe in sacrificing himself.

EDIT: by the way, are custom weapons allowed? Because I'd like to give Leo his signature Crossbow. If not its fine.

Chapter 1 - The Fall of Order

Part 1 – New Haven
---------------------------------
Where am I? Its dark, so dark, too dark.

“Gehehe, we got a nice one, good, good”

Voices, rough voices, its noisy, so noisy

“Don’t struggle little rascal, gehehe ,we be nice, this no hurt”

It burns, the pain, it burns

“You dirty alien fight for us now, gehehe”

“Gaaah!”

I jolted up in a state of anxiety, panting heavily, heart racing, cold sweat dripping from the sides of my cheeks. In panic, I examined my surroundings. I was on a bed, next to it a thick blanket, laid messily on the cold, metal floor. The sound of an alarm resonated through the small metallic room I was in. Sunlight peeked through the dark blue fabric blinds of the window.

It was all just a dream, all just a dream

I rested my forehead on my two hands as I tried to calm myself down. Breath, that’s right, breath. Wiping the sweat off my face, I tapped the alarm sitting on a small round table beside my bed. I got on my two feet, and slowly took steps towards the window. I set aside the blinds, letting light flood the room, enjoying the warmth that covered my face.

I was high up. Beyond the pane of glass, the sun mostly through the horizon, sparse clouds drifting slowly through the sky. Glancing downwards, I saw the town square, already flooded by knights, short and tall, young and old, some crowding the auction house, rowdily shouting about, others enjoying the morning around the fountain and green gardens, chattering in pairs and groups. Snipes of all colors were happily tweeting and prancing around, some playing with knights, others crowding the hats of Strangers.

A stone path beside it led to a marketplace, both Isorans and Strangers stationed on their stalls, serving customers, selling arrays of merchandise, food, whatever that can be sold. On the land to the right, The Hall of Heroes stood proud beside a lineup of guild halls and research facilities. Surrounding the Town Square was an mashup of buildings, houses of both knights and strangers, buildings both tall and short, shops, anything one can think of. A stone wall about 7 caliburs high protected the town, knights donned in armor of blue and white stationed here and there.

”This place’s starting to feel more and more like home, eh, Scorch”

I gently patted head the little red sprite peeking out from below my arms. It growled softly in response, pushing its head against my hand, gently flapping its pitch black wings. Scorch’s mouth was slightly open, the inside faintly glowing red, occasionally breathing out tiny little cinders. From the back of its neck shot out pitch black spikes, the sides of his head had horns that extended backwards. Its abdomen was covered in metal, slightly emerald in color, with lines glowing red here and there.

I looked back outside. The sun was fully over the horizon, the town square getting more and more crowded, the bazaar filled with merchants and customers alike, knights getting ready in parties to venture out. I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes.

Good morning, New Haven

Chapter 1 - The Fall of Order

Part 2 – The Melancholy of the Knight in Cobalt
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Leaving the blinds open, I headed towards the machine on the other side of the room. A big, flat screen stood proud on top of the metal counter, in front of it an electronic board laid with buttons and numbers. Beside it, a pad glowed faintly blue, a trackpad. Cables ran inside a hole in the counter, which had the processors inside. Simply put, a computer.

I gently laid my hand on the trackpad. The blue light grew slightly brighter, and a few moments later the screen lit up with a faint beep, along with the buttons on the board in front of it.

Way better then the systems we had back in the day

Guiding the small blue selector on screen with the trackpad, I opened the news tab. A selection of articles appeared before me.

“Two more knights disappeared whilst venturing, it’s the third incident recently.”

Turning the machine off, I stepped towards the arsenal on the side of the computer. Opening the big metallic chest, an interface popped up on the screen inside, on its right, a similar pad glowed faintly blue. I placed my hand on the pad. On before empty screen now showed a small portrait of a knight on the top left corner. He had crimson eyes, looking ever so slightly empty, face devoid of life. Without a helmet, short, dark red hair covered his head, trimmed without style, military. Beside the portrait was a name in black, ‘Revo Sparks’, below it in smaller font, ‘Defender’.

A generic name, a generic look, a generic knight. I hate it, it’s annoying, so annoying.

Below the portrait were several tabs: ‘Weapons’, ‘Armor’, ‘Helmets’, ‘Shields’. I tapped a tab, beside it appeared a list. I then tapped one of the items on the list. Cloth appeared around my neck, going down to my torso. Whitish blue metal covered my arms and legs, padded my shoulders. A belt appeared, two bags hanging from the sides. My beloved Mighty Cobalt Armor replaced the fabric pajamas I wore.

Several more items appeared as I got down the list. A helm of similar metal covered my head, a hilt with a blade was strapped on my waist, a simple white handgun with a red handle hung on the other side. A red shield attached to my back, bearing a crest of knights on its front, rimmed with shiny metal. I ran my eyes and hands along my body, checking and rechecking

“Mighty Cobalt Helm, check, Ascended Calibur, check, Mighty Defender, check, Master Blaster, check… Right…”

I gently tapped the side of my helm. An interface appeared before my eyes, health, shields, everything I might need to know. Waving my fingers in the air, several options seemingly just slid into existence.

Teleport, Bazaar

The moment I pressed the imaginary buttons, was covered with white, my vision blurred. The next moment, I felt sunlight hit my face, I could hear snipes prancing about, and morning wind brushed against my armor, the noise of the busy town hit flooded my ears. Scorch sleepily tailed me from behind. Stalls stood on the side on the yellow brick road I was standing on, knights and strangers stationed inside, serving customers. I stepped towards one of the stalls, sat down on the wooden seat provided, placing my hands on the wooden counter in front of me.

“Bobby, my usuals” I mumbled as I flipped a golden coin in the air, a familiar figure skillfully catching it with one hand, pouring out orange liquid onto a mug with the other.

“Well good morning to you too, Sparks” He served the mug before me, beside it a bowl full of cracked open rocky cores. Picking the mug up, I took a sip at the hot contents inside. I closed my eyes, savored the warmth in my mouth, and then my entire body. A pleasant flavor of spiciness lingered on my tongue. Blaze pepper tea, good as always. I laid down the mug and took one of the open cores beside it, popping the gooey pink contents in my mouth.

Its sweet

I took another and handed it over to the head popping above my right shoulder. The sprite happily took it in its mouth, munching on the treat while growling softly.

Looking around, I could see other knights doing similar things; eating, trading, chattering away happily, hanging out together, as if we were born here, everyone just one small part of a peaceful community. The tense aura emanating from everybody seemingly disappeared long ago. It has been several Isoran cycles since we’ve crash landed here, and everyone’s getting used to the place, getting used to life, getting used to Cradle.

Part 3 – Den of Madmen
---------------------------------------
“On my right side, the current reigning champion of Duel Arena, the one, the only, Big Angry Bob!!”

“Aand on my left side, this season’s underdog who zoomed across the championship, The Black Devil!”

On the imaginary HUD screen was two knights, staring each other down on each corner of the circular, metallic arena. One was big and bulky, covered with plate armor. On his shoulders was a giant blade, a Khorovod, painted with red and black stripes down to the handle. His intimidating red eyes burned with anger as he faced his opponent. On the other side was a knight of slender build, body fully covered with a black cloak, down to the toes. From the cloak glowed two cyan eyes, as intimidating as his opponent, both of his hands held an arc razor each, painted black.

On the background was a huge crowd, young knights spectating the match while cheering wildly. It was Duel Arena, an alternative to Lockdown and Blast Network, was all the craze recently. One could even watch matches on the go through their HUDs.

Just as the match was about to start, a notification appeared on the far right side of my HUD with a loud beep. Not now. I waved my finger, putting aside the display of Duel Arena and dragged the notification down. It was a message.

“We have located the two knights that went missing recently. They’re held on a Deconstruction Zone on depth 15, shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. I’ve set a waypoint on your gate map to their location. For speed, we’ve assigned you to a squad.”

Following the message was a list of four people, my name being on top. A familiar name caught my eye.

Oh not him

“They’ll be waiting for you on elevator 4 of the arcade… P.S., try to make friends this time, Kora out”

There was a little smiley face on the very bottom of the page.

Damnit Kora

With a sigh, I waved my finger. The message seemingly slid out of my sight. I quickly gulped down the remainder of my Blaze Pepper Tea, mmm, and got off my chair.

“Thanks, Bobby”

“Anytime, anytime”

I waved my hand, imaginary options appeared out of thin air.

Teleport, Arcade

My body was covered in familiar white light. The yellow stone bricks below me disappeared, replaced by a metal floor. The crowds of knights and strangers trading with each other vanished, the sound of metal grinding and cogs moving flooded my ears. Knights walked in and out of elevators in parties, with various weapons in hand. Medics were stationed here and there to rush wounded to the healing center for treatment.

I put my gaze towards elevator 4, the Iron Pawn gate. Leaning beside it was a knight polishing an ivory construct in hand with a piece of cloth. The entirety of it was like a gun, plated with wood and metal with an ivory sheen. A bent piece of white metal intersected the thing in the front, with a thick piece of wire connecting both ends. A… Crossbow?

The knight polishing it was of slender stature, about the same height as me. His eyes glowed light orange, focused on his weapon in hand, shutting off the rest of the world. On his head was a hat of white fabric, a golden star displayed on its front, orange cloth wrapped around the sides of the hat. His body was covered in a thick, brown cloak, on his neck orange collars popped out, his wrists covered in yellow metal. A silver revolver hung from his waist, a Silversix. His legs were wrapped around blue fabric, worn out at the bottom. His feet had simple brown leather shoes on.

I pointed my finger at the figure, options slid down on my HUD. Moving my finger slightly down, I pressed on the option that said ‘inspect’. A screen appeared.

Leo Stryder… That’s one. Waving the screen away, I stepped towards the figure and greeted him, Scorch tailing me from above my shoulders.

“Yo, name’s revo, I’m your party member for this mission”

“mm” He briefly grunted, heads down, still focused on his crossbow in hand

Huuh, how annoying

“S-sorry im late!” A rather bright voice rang from behind. Giving up on the cowboy, I turned around. A pair of cheery green eyes returned my gaze. His head was covered in a blue hoodie, his body covered with thick fabric in a similar blue color, standard geo knight uniform. On his back was a big bag, seemed heavy. I don’t even wanna know what’s inside that thing. On his waist was a holster, in it a handgun, a hilt with a sword on the other side.

“M-my name’s Avelan Renkens, I’ll… be your party researcher...” He said while catching his breath, hands resting on his knees. Jeez, how heavy is that bag.

Avenlan Renkens… That’s two… now for the last one—

“Sparkyy! Long time no see!~~” A soft, yet bright, cheery voice came from the arcade entrance. It came from a knight, covered head to toe with equipment exactly like mine, body slightly shorter, big bright amber eyes greeting me, legs skipping through the hall.

Ambree Fizz. Cute face, slender build, tight around the waist. Mannerisms and voice of a woman, no, even more feminine than any woman.

But he’s a guy

Looks great in a valkyrie set with a pair of pink vertical vents, a pair of tiny wings on the back, with a tail to finish it off.

But he’s a guy

It’s still morning, gentle cold breeze blowing, sun just right, but it’s so damn hot, the snipes are crying.

But he's a guy

Ambree stopped in front of the three of us with a little jump. Facing the other two, who leaned against the wall next to each other, one still polishing his crossbow, the other fiddling with his HUD. He greeted them with a smile.

“Hey, I’m Ambree, I’ll be your striker~” He said with a little bow

“O-oh yes,I-I’m Avelan, eeh, Avelan Renkins, yes, I-I'll be your party researcher ” The researcher stood straight up, suddenly tense, stuttering heavily, face flushing with a tinge of bright red.

But… He’s a guy

With the entire party here, we stepped on the humming steel platform. Accessing the panel, we set our destination to Moorcroft manor. The machine hummed even louder with sounds of metal grinding, as we descended into the clockworks, the party of knights, the band of fools, the den of madmen.

Midnight: "Mister Affraiel, I am the only child of my family!" *sees the thread* "Ambree Fizz? Who is that?"

Affraiel: *giggles* "Speak for your self!" *leaves the room* "Oh well, I will leave your two boys alone, and Avelan, try not to fall in love with midnight okay? Keh heh heh heh..."

Avelan: *crosses his arms* "Almost certainly not!"

One does not simply...

...not sadistically abuse a character who is hopeless against women... Don't worry, dear Avelan, there's more where that came from, mhehehehe~~

In all seriousness, school's starting soon, so I might be a tad bit slower in updating when that happens... Well lets not dwell on that, shall we?

Anyways, look forward to tomorrow's gay love stor-- *cough cough* I-I mean installment, yeah, installment...

Chapter 1 - The Fall of Order

Part 4 – Sunny Days
-------------------------------------
“Raaaaaaaaaah!!”

I shouted as I gripped my Ascended Calibur on hand, my shield covering my front, and kicked myself off the ground. Two retrodes on my left, a lumber on my right. Dashing between the three, my senses were as sharp as ever, each second that passed by felt like hours. My eyes glanced right, paid attention to the lumber’s raising arm.

Yeah, that’s it, now!!

Activating my dash module, I narrowly dodged the giant construct’s swing, my body zooming away, leaving behind a trail of blue energy particles. The impact of the swing hit the two retrodes on the other side, putting their systems in daze.

“Leo! Ave!”

A silver bullet travelled through the air and shot through one of the crippled robot’s body, punching a hole through its chest. At the same time, two blue energy balls hit the other construct’s dazed head, blasting it away. Both retrodes crumbled down and its systems exploded to pieces.

I put my gaze back to the behemoth of wood and steel. Its giant right hammer arm was already high up in the air, about to impale me with several tons of pure brute force—

“Gyaaah!!”

A knight of cobalt zoomed from the right side of my field of view, bashing the lumber with his shield. The force was enough to flinch the construct to the far left, its arm smashing the ground about 3 caliburs away from where I was. I quickly dashed backwards to avoid the ensuing shockwave.

“Sparkyy, your chance!”

“Right, Scorch, cover me!”

The sprite reacted with a loud screech, flying up high, blasting the lumber with a barrage of fire. I gripped my sword tight r and began charging. White mist energy started gathering around its blade, quickly covering the weapon with a white sheen. I kicked the ground below me and ran towards the dazed behemoth, recovering from the attack. ziiing!, my weapon rang as it finished charging, blade now bathed in golden energy.

“Raaaaah!!”

With my might, I swung the sword, from my far left to my far right, gliding around my body, then back again, the energy inside released with force to boost the blade and myself through the air. I cut deep inside the construct’s thick plate of wood and steel, destroying its innards. It was launched through the air from the force of the swing before landing. Instantaneously, energy grew bright from where it was cut, and then a loud explosion reverberated through the air as the behemoth blew itself up into pieces.

“Yeah, we did it!”

“Good job everyone”

With all the enemies defeated, the gate opened, revealing the humming elevator downwards leading to the next depth. Catching my breath, I waved my fingers, a list of options appeared before my eyes. I opened my gate map to see where the waypoint was. One more rotation till we can go there . I sighed as I slid the screen off my field of view.

“Right guys, let’s take a break here, it’ll be some time before the level rotates.” I said rather loudly to everyone as I found a shady place below a tree and sat down.

Opening my brown leather satchel that hung on my waist, I took a metal canteen out, gently opened the cap and placed it over my mouth. The rather warm liquid inside poured in, drenching my throat.Blaze pepper tea, good as always . I closed my eyes as I felt the pleasant breeze brush my body, the distant sound of metal grinding, the gentle smell of green grass emanated from where I sat. On the clear blue skies was a sun, rather warm, my mind ignoring the fact that everything here is artificial, just letting myself go.

I heard the grass ruffle beside me. Gazing left, I saw leo sitting about a calibur away from where I was, leaning against the tree as I did, his beloved crossbow on his lap, his orange, dead eyes soaring through the skies, absorbing the moment. I put my gaze towards the sky as he did.

Bliss

“Jigsaw valley, never gets old” A hoarse voice, rather deep voice came out of the knight to my left, followed by an equally hoarse sigh.

“Oh, the mute man talks…” I replied sarcastically, still gazing through the blue sky above.

“I’ll put a hole through your chest” I felt death bombard the left side of my face. I turned around, returned the stare, before laying my head back on the tree trunk, closing

“How quaint…”

A muted chatter came from our front. I opened my eyes and turned my gaze towards the two knights sitting on the edge of the platform next to each other. One, wearing standard geo knight uniform, had a device in his hand. The other, donned in full mighty cobalt, took heavy interest on the device, slightly face leaning towards the thing, both knights chattering away.

“They should get married” Leo, apparently watching the same scene as I did, said while chuckling.

“That would be gay”

“Jealous, much?”

“Both of em’ are guys” I replied with a sigh

“Oh… That… would be gay…”

The voice momentarily stopped, then continued

“That explains a whole lot”

“Like what?”

“How it’s so flat”

“Wow, aren’t you the perverted old geezer?”

“There are only two kinds of men in this world, open perverts who admit it, and closet perverts who don’t”

“…Mm… Touché”

Ouch, right in the heart

We continued watching the scene before us. The knight in blue suddenly tensed up, looking nervous, his face tinged with red, body slightly shivering. With his eyes locked on the other’s, his lips moved, seemingly asked a question, as the knight in cobalt beside him turned away his attention from the device to the researcher in blue, returning his gaze with big, bright amber eyes.

“Oh that’s cute, they seriously should just get married”

“Now you’re just being nasty”

“Hoo, little Sparky here’s being jealous again”

“I’ll thrust my blade through your chest”

“How quaint”

The knight in blue suddenly ran got up and ran across the plain of grass, towards where we were, leaving the other knight behind with a confused face. He stopped in front of me, speaking while trying to catch his breath.

“W-what’s between y-you.. and A-Ambree?”

“Oh, me and him? Former partners”

“W-wait, h-him?”

“Yeah, him…”

A gentle breeze blew across the platform, the ruffling of leaves and grass could be heard as it passed, Avelan’s body stiff as a statue, face in shock.

“Oh, the level rotated” I said as I saw the notification on the far right side of my GUI, got off the grass, Leo followed after.

“Yo Ambree, we’re going, let’s go!”

“Alrigiiht~” He got up and merrily skipped towards the elevator

We stepped on the humming machine, Avelan getting on last, face still frozen in shock. We descended, felt the gentle, pleasant winds stop, the sunlight disappeared from the gaps above, the ruffling of leaves replaced by the sound of grinding metal, as we sank further and further down towards the depths of the Clockworks.

A question.

Don't mind the double post, okay? I would have put an app here, but I need to ask a few questions before I do.

1: Are we allowed to choose gender?
2: Were I to make a story that fit, could I create a Almirian character?
3: What are the limitations?

@liminori Thanks for reading! ze answers to ze questions

1.Oh did I forget to put a genders section on the apps format? My bad... Yeah, you're allowed to choose a gender

2.For now, kindly limit yourself to strictly knights, for the purpose of the plot... I may (or may not) allow apps for non isoran characters in the future

3.Aside from your characters being knights and not being overly OP, there's really no limitations on what you can do... (Of course, I may tweak your characters a bit to fit the story)

I'll eagerly look forward to your app :3

Hmm. . .

What I want to do just became about 10x difficult.
I might end up giving you about 3 apps, so be prepared.
Also. . . Do people die of old age in this story? Or does age mean nothing in this alternate universe?

The App

Name: Asche

Personality: Jokingly, she hits on others (Both Genders.), But only pushes too far with someone she hates.
If anything, She's a fiesty one, and fights while joking. Whenever there's not a chaotic happy scene, there's something wrong.
There's REALLY something wrong, if her fake smile stops. If you can ever catch her crying, she may well cry on you.

Gender:

Bio: Asche was born to a Morai father (5 years), but was raised by a Isoran mother after being abandoned beside the streets. It was 7 years before she realized that her mother looked nothing like her, nor did she look similar whatsoever. A few years (2) later that her fake family would be killed by gremlins.
Asche, at that time thought "I'm a bad luck charm." She went insane, and entered the clockworks with nothing more than a small folding knife.
When she came out, she wasn't the same. Her stare was like that of a Soldier's.
Trying to fit into society again, Everyone just laughed at her, and pushed her away. When the artificial moon and sun switched places, Asche found herself at a hotel, trying to buy herself a room with the gold she found in the clockworks. However, The gold wasn't quite enough, and so she was going to be kicked out, but a stranger came by and said that he'd help pay for the cost, so long as he could stay as well.
After that, A strange friendship arose from that simple act of kindness. Day and night, they'd joke together, However they wanted.
However, This happy relationship didn't last long, as the stranger had to go do his job in the Spiral Order. He said, almost blankly that his next mission was a Suicide mission- The reason he had as much time as he did beforehand.
And so he left, For Asche to never hear from again.
Not long after, Asche signed herself up in the Spiral Order.

Physical Features: Short Red hair (Not blood red, but you know, Orange Red.), Slim Build, Freckles (Can't forget em, there's too many), Brown eyes.

Combat Gear: Dragon Scale Mail, Kat Claw Cowl (Interestingly, The eyes on Asche's cowl are stitched together.), Wild Hunting Blade, Heater Shield, Polaris.

Other Stuff: Punch, Tease, Run away!
---
I was going to do a Almirian character, But I like this much more.
Asche is quite the character, And good at raising morale, Despite her unusual way of doing so.

Chapter 1 - The Fall of Order

Part 5 – Deconstruction Zone
----------------------------------------------
The smell of rust and iron, the roars of monstrous pieces of metal moving and grinding unto one another, the tremors of giant beams of metal bombarding the ground…

Where am I, its dark, so dark

[Gehehe, we got a nice one, good, good]

Voices, rough voices, its noisy, so noisy

[Sparks!]

The blazing fires, it burns, the pain, it burns

[Sparks!!]

No, stop, no, please, put the pain away

“Sparks!!”

I snapped back to my senses. I was panting heavily, heart pounding incredibly hard in my chest, cold sweat dripped from my chin.

“Sparks, snap out of it!”

I raised my downcast eyes. Gazing back was a knight of worried amber eyes, head covered with a helm of metal, both hands gripping each of my shoulders. Behind him were two knights, one with green, concerned eyes, intently staring at mine with a straight face, the other was a bit farther, had a hat of pure white covering his face as he leaned on a pile of rusted beams of metal piled on the ground, hands folded. On my side was my sprite, Scorch, growling softly with a worried look on its face.

I took deep breaths, calming myself down, my heartbeat slowed.

I’m out of the dark, I’m out of the dark”

“It’s just your everyday decon zone, don’t worry about it, okay?” The knight in front of me took his hands off my shoulders, life flooding back into his eyes, his face turned cheery once more. Avelan took his gaze off me with a sigh, and began to fiddle around with his gadgets. The cowboy took his back off the pile and stepped closer towards the group.

Right, just my everyday decon zone

“Right, here’s what we’re gonna do…” Ambree said to us all with a steadfast tone, his cheery self one again replaced by a familiar expression of seriousness. “Sparks and I are gonna go in there and free the knights, you both tail us from behind. Avelan, you scout for enemies as we extract the prisoners, Leo, cover us when things get bad. Avoid combat as much as possible, got it?”

“...Whoa…” The geo knight whispered in awe, eyes wide

“He’s a guy after all” Leo smirked under his breath, hat still covering his face

“Got it?” Ambree said once more, louder, this time coupled with a sharp stare towards the two knights.

“Yes sir!!” They both said in a chorus, with the researcher in blue particularly tense. Ambree’s face then relaxed, putting back his usual happy go lucky look, smiling innocently.

“Right, get your gear ready, we’re going in first, you follow after.” The knight in cobalt glanced at me and nodded, we both unsheathed our blades, with our shields on out left, ready to charge. I took a glance at the map on my top right of my field of vision. Two blue energy signatures glowed quite a far ways off from ours, then farther from that the elevator back to the surface.

I glanced at the knight on my left, sword and shield ready, orange eyes focused forward, taking command. Just like old times

“Last one there’s….”

“…A rotten rocky core”

We both ourselves off the ground, dashing forward towards the two glowing energy signatures, the grinding of gears covered the sound of our footsteps as we rushed across on the iron platform, leaving trails of dust with every step.
