I am appalled at how I play Lockdown.

So.
I'm primarily a Striker, and my main loadout these days is Snarbolax Cap, Vog Cub Coat, Divine Avenger, Polaris, Obsidian Edge, and Callahan.
My best damage so far is 15k, and I don't use autotarget because I find it unreliable.
So... what's the problem here?

Well, I'd say the first issue is my choice of weapons. Now, there's nothing wrong with using a Divine Avenger over a Gran Faust; in fact, considering the Lockdown metagame these days, I recommend it. Acheron filled the need for a shadow weapon for a while, but I traded it out for an Obsidian Edge during the Apocrea Event last month. I'm aware that the Acheron outclasses the Obsidian Edge in DPS potential, but the poison charge attack is ridiculously useful. And no, the Callahan isn't the problem either; in fact, making a Callahan was one of the best decisions of my life. So that narrows it down to the most loathed weapon in Lockdown: The Trollaris. Obviously I'm not a Bomber, so I have to rely on the Polaris for area denial—never really found a use for it in heated combat. Right now I'd rather have the damage capabilities of the Storm Driver than the area denial of the Polaris.

Now, for my actual playstyle. Let me take a moment to brag about how I got ASI VH when I upgraded from Sealed Sword to Avenger and how my Divine Avenger has been the most reliable blade in my arsenal ever since.
...
Anyway, it doesn't require a Spiral HQ scientist to determine that the Divine Avenger is my primary weapon in Lockdown. In fact, it's about the only thing that I use. Ever. Occasionally I whip out the Callahan and play the neutral game until one of my shots lands, or I switch over to the Obsidian Edge if I see Vog Cub or Chaos. I'm pretty sure that constitutes as "spam". So, I need to find a reliable strategy that doesn't involve spamming my Divine Avenger at every turn.

Any ideas?

You're a striker?

You say you have a VH UV on your divine avenger, so unless the ASI VH on your obsidian edge is helping you win games, I'd reckon you should go full snarbolax. You will have ASI Max on your divine avenger just by being a striker, and dishing out more damage could essentially help you in a sword duel.

This could also open you up to increasing damage or ASI on your guns. If you can smack an enemy with a status before rushing in with your divine avenger you'll have the upper hand in most cases. Not exactly a new strategy, but a new approach to an existing one.

Why are you using a Vog coat if your main sword has ASI VH? Swap it for another Wolver line or Chaos.

If you don't mind a lot of hard work and possible raging and getting very frustrated, I would suggest ditching the DA for a week or two and focus on improving your skills with other swords (Brandish specifically, it's probably the hardest viable one) so you can incorporate them into your playstyle more. Once you've learned them, get a toothpick or elemental brandish for the BKC/Snarbys and overall, just don't lean so heavily on one weapon if you're not comfortable doing so.
