Okay, so its called "Ancient Owlite Scroll". Basically they are a combo of the Speed Up/Attack Up/Defense Up things and the Artillery Strike/Mecha Knight/Recon Knight pickups which are activated with the # keys like the vials and health things. You get them as drops from mobs, mainly the Undead Family Mobs. Ive come up with three so far. While using these scrolls abilities, you cannot use your regular attacks (Sword/Handgun/Bomb)
1. Ancient Owlite Scroll - Fireball: This item, when used, allows you to cast fireballs at enemies for 15 seconds by pressing a certain key. The fireballs look like giant heat orbs and set enemies on Fire.
2. Ancient Owlite Scroll - Levitate: This item, when used, allows you to levitate for 15 seconds. Basically, your knight goes into the /sit position, but your knight is floating. This allows your knight to float over Shankles, Spike traps, and Effect traps - (Fire/ poison/shock/etc. but not Wisps)
3. Ancient Owlite Scroll - Explosion: This item, when used, summons in The stuff that appears after you kill a Blast Jelly- the same stuff the Collector throws around during the battle- you know what i mean. It basically summons in 5 of those and they blow up in an explosion that is damaging to enemies, but not the knight.
Feel free to leave comments on what you think or on more ideas for these Ancient Owlite Scrolls. Thanks for reading!
Scroll pickups? Interesting temporary abilities? Sure! I'd reduce the times you've posted - but, you could always nullify your usage of a scroll by using a different pickup, right? in case you want to terminate the effect(s) early - barriers do this if you use another kind of barrier. This would be a great method assuming you have one on you of course. If I'm levitating, would a pill nullify it, or would you isolate nullification to non-capsule (pill/remedy) pickups? Would taking dmg from enemies nullify it (like if I took a bullet from a puppy)?
My suggestion:
Scroll of Warping
"This scroll seems to have paw prints and fur all over it. Perhaps the author spent too much time in the kennel."
This scroll is lifted up over your head and thrown (like a wadded up paper ball "scroll"- similar animation mechanics as vials). You will teleport to where it lands. It will ignore enemies/spawned effects (falling spirit fire pillars, NOT the ones already in the level) in the way - but not walls/gates. Throw range is about the same as the armor from those annoying rocket launcher gremlins - mechanics are about the same as well. Where you teleport to might be pushed a little north/south/east/west etc. if something fast happens to get in the way of where you're supposed to end up.
Alternatively, you could have another type of Warp scroll that simply warps you to a random "empty" location that is within 7 tiles when you press the command to use it. It will never warp you to a locked area (like beyond a key gate) and so on. Usage ignores shock and damage ticks - there is a delay, but it's very short (pill usage delay is longer).
Best usage: get out of the Trojan Corner. Get out of that stupid ceiling-rubble fire mess that just happened to fall exactly all around you during a Vana fight.
