mist energy

It is obvious the main reason OOO removed wasn't to "let players play more" but to make people pay full price for supply depot stuff and to end alt crafting, otherwise they would have kept it or simply reduced the elevator cost. The fire crystals part of that update was meant to balance free orbs dropping, not the free elevator cost. mist was something they surreptitiously removed among the numerous other things that changed in the update so that players would not complain too much about its removal.

I suggest bringing it back, except with a cap of 50 daily, with an elevator cost of 2 energy. This way players have a way of getting a small discount on items they purchase if they don't have enough time to play that day, as well as allowing one to craft one two star item a day for free if they lack time. It should also fully regenerate over the same period of time. This provides a plenty amount of runs for the players, and helps those who do not have as much time daily.

Since energy is only used for buying things from the supply depot (you can buy unbind tickets there), bribing krogmo and opening danger rooms, what you're suggesting is to give everyone 50 CE off their first purchase every day or 2 free plays at krogmo and to make danger rooms free. I guess it would also allow for a single revive and free to cheap turrets/friendly mechas or so as well.

I wouldn't mind being given any of these things, but I will say that free elevators more than compensate for the lack of them. I'd much rather Three Rings just make radiant fire crystals more plentiful, or to at least fix the treasure boxes after Operation Crimson Hammer, which drop mostly shinning fire crystals somehow.

The papaya giggles

I find it funny how (most of) the community spent a few years begging for OOO to remove the energy cost of elevators, and then once that update finally comes, everyone wants mist energy back

Hell no.

Prior to the existence of cosmetics and the gear from the depot, energy existed for the sole purpose of converting play into pay. Mist was created as a way for players to bootstrap themselves into the crown<->ce economy (you can debate if it was also for training daily log ons).

The problem was (not unlike a lot of f2p games with their "join now and get all this free stuff which you know nothing about" offers) it takes time for a player to figure out the rules of the system - so unless a new player knew before hand about mist->crowns->crystal system, they would repeatedly bankrupt themselves out of sustainable play each day. Crafting yourself a new toy but having to wait until tomorrow to try it out because you don't know anything about the crystal energy economy (and definitely not mist alt crafters) hardly makes for an attractive user-friendly experience for new players.

There is a group of people out there who think that mass crafting died with mist, but this is simply not true. It has shifted from 'who has the most alts, wins' to 'anyone who is willing to accept overhead'. All that 2* gear on the AH has to come from somewhere.

On the flipside, OOO has made

On the flipside, OOO has made orbs one of the rarest drops in the game.

Three rings made some mistake and is taking to long to fix them

In all honesty I like the game better when there was mist energy, but the removal of mist as well as the changes made with it where need to make it into a completely free to play game.

However allot of mistake were made during the transition, first 5 star orb where over abundant and so where radiant crystals. They quickly patched and made 5 star orbs less (i still find them to often though, more often than sols) and they also made radiant drops only available in depth 28 aka the radiant drought which took allot longer to respond to this situation.

What the game need right now isn't the return of mist but a readjustment of drop rates, In all honesty orbs aren't that rare at all, especially 5 star orbs which have the large drop range (strata 5 and 6 sometime drop in strata 4). The only more trouble some orbs to collect would be 2 star orbs and 4 star (unless you farm boss missions) because you have to be in be in strata 2 and 4 respectively which you need to get through another strata in order to get to.

The last problem is that with the removal or mist the game lost most of profit capabilities, in the past energy was need to upgraded weapons, you either had to buy it your self or buy it from another player it may have not been truly free to play but it made it health relationship between F2Ps, P2Ps, and the admin.

Players who purchase ce would get energy and sell energy if they had a sudden need for cr the admins would then create promo to keep the ce reserve high. The promo items increase the need for cr because they are often sold in the auction house and many players would sell some of the ce they bought in order to compete in the auctions.

In this sense devs supply energy to paying player as well as a complementary item and also lower the prices for non-paying player, this would have worked right now with the once (or twice) a month promo.

With the introduction orbs and fire crystals there isn't much of a need for energy anymore at most you would need 800 ce a month to get trinket and weapon slots and for some players a few sparks of life. There is shadow lair as well but they give you back allot cr in return in other word nothing you would do that often. The only time you need ce is to buy pets and the evo catalyst but not something most player buy that often.

i really don't expect three rings to fix it

they needed to make a new paywall, and are aware of the dearth of crystals relative to orbs. This is so players will spend money on fire crystals, and given the high cost of them it is apparently still working.

Obviously not ALL players will have stopped crafting two star items. However, as you should have noticed from checking the auction house, the prices for two star items at the auction house have nearly doubled, and there are a lot fewer than before.

As for new players having problems with mist, that is what mist tanks are for. To give a new players a little boost while they are still learning the system. Also, it is not as difficult to learn the mist system as you make it out to be. If what you said was true their would be more players now than before, however all statstics show that aside from a slightly noticeable albeit temporary jump in players directly after the update came out, after which it remained just as much as before.

You got that right. In the recent Torto event I personally crafted well over 200 guns. I can easily sink 3 or 4K energy a day into crafting, where previously this was not feasible due to competition from mist alts.

>However, as you should have noticed from checking the auction house, the prices for two star items at the auction house have nearly doubled, and there are a lot fewer than before.
Because 2* crafting costs rose from 400cr for a pile of mist alts to 3650~4000cr for actual player characters. Having 3 cheap brandishes coming back to you is less of a hit than an expensive one. If that was the fallacy you are trying to point out to me, then fine, you put me in my place if thats what you wanted to hear.

>Mist tanks
Again, you can't take it for granted that a new player knows or understands what this is. It is true that it was possible to manage your mist and tanks to get all the way up to 2* and still keep playing thanks to the mission system fast tracking you through tier 1. As long as you knew not to open those 3 or so energy doors on that one map, that is.
