There was a time when I had more time than I had money. That was when I racked up the majority of my nearly 3000 hours on this game.

I don't anymore, but I've still got science to do, and I will pay YOU to do it for me!

Basically I want you to go to depths deep in arcade and set things on fire for me. I will pay you CE for each number that has not been gathered yet.

This is first come first serve. If someone else submits the number in this topic before you do, they'll get the CE. Act fast!

Here's the spreadsheet I'm working with. (Scroll down) You can work out all the relations there yourself, and you can see which enemies have the same fire resistance as the ones I mention many places, such as the damage table for minor fire.

When you submit your number, please state the exact source of fire you used (and star rating) as well as the exact enemy. Also include a screenshot of the damage number itself.

None left!

If you were to gather all of these numbers, I would owe you

Depth 3: 200 CE
Depth 7: 1000 CE
Depth 12: 1200 CE
Depth 14: 100 CE
Depth 17: 3000 CE
Depth 22: 2250 CE
Depth 24: 200 CE
Depth 28: 4200 CE

Total: 12150 CE

Data points gathered: All of them! You did all of the science! You guys are great!
CE Remaining: 0/12150

Thanks, and happy science!

Cool idea. How will you know

Cool idea. How will you know if someone is faking information for your energy?

Careful who you hand out your hard earned energy to, some lowlife will undoubtedly scam for money.

Might I recommend putting the data in video proof format as a requirement?

Not everyone can readily record videos, so it'd severely limit the amount of people who could do this.

Perhaps screenshots? We'll say screenshots.

Nice event!

Not sure I will have the time/effort to do this, but a few questions.
1) Does it matter what difficulty you are on?
2) Can Drakon's skills be ultimate? Also can't you use skill points to make Drakon's fire stronger? Or does it not matter as long as you specify?

@Tactle-Neck
  1. The difficulty has no bearing, but for your own sake I would put it on the highest you can manage because enemies with a lot of health are easier to gather numbers from.
  2. For drakon, I will need the fire strength for each ability maxed, but ultimates do not matter. However, your Drakon can be Tier 1 or Tier 2 as long as the fire strength is maxed.

    If you submit a number for a skill with less points, state the amount of points and I will pay 10 CE as long as I do not already have the number. You can use a Firebolt with 2 points in it to submit for moderate fire.

I am out. Good luck to everyone else!

While I would love to participate in this...

My hold-ups:

  • I need two items of the same ranking and heat level that both generate the same magnitude of fire and different methods of pure damage.
  • As it stands, I have neither the time nor the resources within my arsenal to arrange the aforementioned conditions.
  • While just about every scenario listed can be found even up to this moment, finding them between clockworks and missions takes time.
  • Initially when seeking the best source for minor fire damage, I used both my maxed Searing Edge (2*) and my maxed Flamberge (3*) on a Mender, Alpha Wolver, a Polyp, and by chance a Lichen Colony in a Depth 10 arena within the first round. While the Gremlin died before being set ablaze, the remaining Alpha Wolver, Polyp, and Colony were capable of being set ablaze. Each generated different numbers when set ablaze, none of which I recorded because neither that depth nor the enemies were the ones requested.

    The beast that had elemental resistance did not receive as much damage from being burned from the elemental/normal damage weapon (Searing Edge) as it did from the piercing weapon (Flamberge). A similar observation was made when burning the slimes; more damage was received from the 2* sword than it was for the 3* sword. Between brief trials, the ranges were about the same with a three to five point difference of which source of fire generated more damage.

    Yet I realize that that was far from the best method of seeking a good source of fire because the monster's strengths and weaknesses must be taken into account. Furthermore, I understand that there will be some variability within the results that you receive. For instance, if more than one person gets different numbers from the same type of enemy from maxed weapons without bonuses or unique variants, the measure of damage due to fire may boil down to how they applied it. And because of that, I wonder if you will be taking the first set of numbers applied from burns or if you are making some estimate from this.

    Either way, while others may be equipped to tackle the task, at present I am not one of them. Well that and my efforts to complete anything of this sort borders on laziness at present. So to all of you who enter this, best of luck to you and have fun.

  • PS. I think I would have done this purely for science itself. However the pay is a nice incentive. =]

    @Arelic

    Unique variants, heat levels, damage bonuses and anything else should not have any impact at all on the fire damage. Only the strength of fire itself, and the resistance of the enemy. The numbers are supposed to be entirely deterministic, and they have been as far as I've been measuring them.

    In addition, I'm not really looking for minor fire. Those numbers are all known.

    The difference is weird. Could you hit a T1 and T2 training bag with flamberge and searing edge for me? It shouldn't matter which ones?

    @Goldfinger

    Giant Linchens have a different resist to fire than the regular linchens, according to the "chart" the OP provided.

    Regarding the difference on the Linchens and Ice Cubes... I don't know O_o My guess is that, in your screenshot, two or three linchens had already fused, and thus had a slightly greater defense (Instead of taking the full 40 points, they took 38).
