Pepperbox- Attack Speed Increase Or Damage Bonus

I currently play with a Pepperbox and am unsure whether to get the Attack Speed Increase of the Justifier or the Damage Bonus of the Sundown.

I tried to look around the forums but no avail.

I have heard some people say that the damage bonus is standard for every weapon, meaning it will add 10 dmg to every weapon but I have also heard others say its a percentage increase.

I was wondering, how does Damage bonus (against all) work and whether i should get the Justifier or Sundown for my Pepperbox.

Don't keep firing, MOVE!

For the Pepperbox, Attack Speed is way better than a damage boost, in my opinion. Why? Because when you fire the Pepperbox, you can't move, you can't re-aim, you can't shield. If there are enemies nearby who aren't getting hit by your shots when you fire (and even something the targets you're hitting, if there are enough people in your party) that are going to be able to attack you in return while you're standing there. The faster you complete your attack, the faster you can take a step back, or pop your shield to block incoming attacks.

Just as an example, I have IAS maximum from my gear- and when I fire my Volcanic Pepperbox, I can fire both shots in the time it takes to fire one burst without any Attack Speed boosts. That's a pretty big difference. And in Tier 3, if I fire both bursts immediately in sequence in most situations, standing still that long means I take damage from something. But with one burst, I fire it off fast enough I can pop my shield, block any counter attacks, and step back and prepare to fire again. Being rooted to the ground is what makes the Pepperbox a non-viable gun for most players, so if you can reduce that limitation I think you'll find it to be a more effective weapon.

yea, i know but lately I have

yea, i know but lately I have heard someone say that damage bonus is standard, mean it will add a standard amount of damage to your weapon.
Not sure if this is true. I have tried to test it, haven't really reached any conclusions though.

But if this standard damage is true it will apply 6 times per burst in a Pepperbox shot, resulting in a lot of extra damage.

I was actually wondering about how Damage bonus( against all) works.

Damage Bonus

I haven't tried any gun damage bonuses myself, but how it works is...

Normally the Pepperbox shot would do 6 shots of equal damage, so something like 6 x 30 damage = 180 damage if all 6 hit the target.

Now let's say you have the Shadowsun Set (both helm and armor) for a total Handgun Damage Bonus of Medium. The damage bonus varies by depth, so we'll use 12% as an example. That means each shot from the Pepperbox would now be 34 damage, or 204 damage total if all 6 managed to hit the target.

When each shot does equal damage, the damage bonus should be applied equally. This is different from other weapons like a two swing sword where the first hit might do 100 damage and the second hit in the combo does 150. So a Sword Damage Bonus Medium should result in damage of approximately 112 and 168.
