I was wondering about damage mechanics.. According to this, http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Damage piercing damage does high damage for beasts – while elemental damage does lower damage. Flamberge has both piercing and elemental damage. Would the high and low cancel each other to neutral, or will it still be great against beasts?
Damage Mechanics..
The Silversix does piercing and elemental damage. Against beasts (weak in piercing strong in elemental) and constructs (strong in piercing weak in elemental), its total damage output is reduced compared to the equivalent amount of normal damage.
Enemy resistances are stronger than enemy weaknesses, so if you have a weapon that deals two types of damage and the enemy you use it on is weak in one and resistant to the other, overall it will be somewhat resistant to that weapon.
As the post above mine states, the flamberge doesn't actually do elemental damage. It is therefore great against beasts of all kinds, although you won't be able to catch an ashtail on fire (since they are fire element wolvers and thus resistant to fire).
Thanks a lot for clarifying that.. I guess the flame thing got me thinking that it also did elemental damage - must've mixed it up while reading the antigua series :/
flamberge only does piercing damage. NO elemental damage. THe fire is just a status effect
