I've been curious as of late... How can you use the energy market to duplicate your money? Other tips and tricks to improve wealth? I've been thinking of starting my own merchanting business.

Buy low, sell high!
Takes a bit of time though, if you're willing.

Well...

Prices tend to drop during promotions, as the P2P players will purchase energy and the like to obtain the promotion boxes. They will also tend to sell all that energy, and the influx will cause the prices to drop.

Thus the most ideal thing to do would be to purchase energy during those times, and wait for the prices to rise between promotions. Also, if there are any in-game events that require energy, you'd do best to sell it then.

The only question remaining is why I don't do this. :/

EDIT: Oh, if you get (non P2P) costumes, there is a sort of "prime time" when they sell for the most. This is usually when people are first find them, but if you can't get enough that fast, you can probably hold onto them for a while so they wrack up rarity.

I hear you gotta start out with about 2.5k ce then start manipulating the market. I still need some techniques and in-depth explanations regarding the energy market.

Actually, here's the truth about Contri: he has no secret, he just got wealthy through merchanting like everyone else who's wealthy. He's not F2P, but he did buy boxes during good promotions.

Prices tend to drop during promotions, as the P2P players will purchase energy and the like to obtain the promotion boxes. They will also tend to sell all that energy, and the influx will cause the prices to drop.

That was the case in the past, but not anymore. After they took a certain official poll and maybe partly from forum feedback (doubt it), they've separated prize boxes and energy purchases.

Take a look here.
"Confection Prize Boxes may be purchased for $4.95 each, 5 boxes for $19.95 or 14 boxes for $49.95. Prize boxes can only be purchased on their own and are not included with purchases of energy."

Really, the main thing to it iirc was being at the top of both lists in the energy trade when the gap in sell price (post 'tax') and buy price is profitable, but not in large enough of an amount that people will just undercut you (unless you're playing long term and patiently). In the past (mist-energy days), I've seen around 250 cr gaps per transaction lol, but energy's not in as large of demand as it used to be. I used to do it while waiting for mist to return, or while waiting for blast network games, back when it was a big thing XD.
