I think players should only be able to change the recipes for the floors they currently have access to. If a knight only has access the tier 1 floors, then they should only be able to affect the recipes for the teir 1 floors. If a player has access to tier 2 floors, then they should only be able to affect the recipes on the tier 1 and tier 2 floors. This way you don't have tier 1 knights affecting the gameplay on the tier 3 strata.

I think what Zanoni is trying

I think what Zanoni is trying to say is that if you only have access to Tier 1, then you should only be able to affect mineral ratios in the first two strata of an inactive gate. This would allow people who have access to higher Tiers more control over what the eventual theme would be when the a gate activates.

I could go for that.

Doing this would also stop folk with alts from doubling their mineral input at a certain gate without first using that alt and clearing it all the way down to T3. Not much of a discouragement, but better than nothing.

I think this is a fantastic

I think this is a fantastic idea, but not just because of the benefits to higher-level players and the curtailing of alt abuse. The prospect of having more wide-ranging control would act as an additional encouragement for new players to advance to higher tiers, whilst also allowing those same new players to exercise a greater degree of control over the early-game experience.
