Concerning the Monthly Prize Box

If OOO made the odds of the new boxes favor only new items, that is to say contain only new items, would that ever make old iron lockbox accesories more rare and valuable again?

Just saying because perpetuating all this old stuff and dangling a little "new" carrot behind these low percentages isn't making me want to buy into it.

Anyone else?

Energy prices went up the beginning of the last 2 months, but actually went down this time.
Guess some people agree.

@OP Dont really care about

@OP

Dont really care about your opinion since your threads are mostly complaints, but the prize box is good for chronic openers.

To everyone else, its just another shiny picture on the prize wheel that you see when it passes, and forget about after getting that fire vial instead.

If you don't care about the thread, why did you even bother commenting? Just ignore it.

Woah, okay. I know I sound

Woah, okay.

I know I sound like a chronic complainer, but this is a serious query.

I mean OOO could have accessories come and go in seasons, and then every accesory would have it's ups and downs all year, but the way it currently is, we're just getting more of the same with some lucky stuff thrown in? I mean sure it's good for chronic openers, but how many people are expecting new stuff anyways to bother opening it?

It's nice, but could it be nicer?

The supply of these items has gone down, as there are less iron lockboxes etc. being opened.

The demand for these items is at an all time low, as there are so very many new substitutes for the items. A good example of this would be bomb bandoliers, which now pale in comparison to the vial bandolier released a while ago.

I don't know which of these factors would win out, but I would guess the second one, which appears to myself as being the larger of the two.

Just saying because perpetuating all this old stuff and dangling a little "new" carrot behind these low percentages isn't making me want to buy into it.

Yeah, I don't blame you. I got a something lockbox the other day, and considered opening it. Then I thought about what the odds would be, and came to this conclusion:

70% chance of heavy maid headband
30% chance of toasty headlamp
0% chance of something that I would want.

Cost to open box: 750 energy or ~56K crowns.
Win: Gain about 25K crowns in value.
Lose: Lose about 49K crowns in value.

This is not a proposition that I would begin to consider. Always tell me the odds, because it is incredibly sketchy if you don't. Especially with TF2 crates the way they are, what with mostly new+wanted items.

@Octaslash

If there is anything that you'd like to talk about, I'm available and would be happy to be there for you. <69
