It feels like I should be investing into 5-Star modules suddenly. I noticed after a Tier 3 Clockworks run on elite mode with Penta Heart Trinkets, full Chaos, a Swiftstrike Buckler, a Glacius, and an Acheron that I didn't really take any damage at all unless I was in an arena or something like that. So the question is, why even have heart trinkets if you're barely taking any damage at all due to having such a great set? May as well make your battle sprite give you MSI Medium instead of that Damage Bonus Increase Medium and call it a day after you now have the 5* module that replaces the perk for you.

Some of you guys probably already caught on to this, but I'm jussayin'. They seem pretty promising.

Oh, welcome to the world of not needing UVs.

If you use offense trinkets, you can get max ASI+DMG on a single weapon type.

For example:
+3 ASI Swiftstrike Shield
+4 ASI trinket set (ex: two elite quick draw modules)
+4 damage armor set (ex: shadowsun)
+2 damage pet perk (ex: true shot 5*)

You can swap the damage/asi role of armor and trinket if you so wish, but generally (ex: with chaos), people use the damage sets. Added bonus: if you use Chaos and level 10 items, you also get max CTR.

You end up playing a kill-fast-die-fast game (IMO, is more fun than being slow and safe), and run with the same power of someone who's spent hundreds of IRL money, all for much cheaper.

/me thumbs up.

Since I have no life, I have exactly one couple for each modules. They gave me more "versatility" on choosing random gears without missing out the UVs (Yeah right, Poopsie, you called more offensive stats is versatility). I don't regret it, though it takes quite while to get them. I switch back to penta when it was a mission like grinchlin assault.

agree

If you're a highly advanced player, it's unsurprising that you don't take much damage in common PvE. So health trinkets are not useful. Use offensive trinkets by default. Use status trinkets in certain situations, if they help put you over a critical threshold (like the freeze in Heart of Ice). Damage defense trinkets do not seem very useful. Or don't use trinkets at all.

I've never invested in modules. Maybe I should. Oh wait, I suck at PvP. ._.

just buy the mod calibrators and make them. Some people might have trinkets left over from the promo that gave them out and put those for sale too.

We're getting pretty close to the point where each class has a definite set to strive for. Bombers reached that point a while ago.

Bombers
Black Kat Cowl
Mercurial Demo
Swiftstrike Buckler (for that smoother Maeko-bombing, can replace with level-appropriate shield)
Swift Steps II
Elite Boom Module
Elite Bomb Focus Module

You can use Chaos instead of Mercurial demo until you get to the point where all the bombs you care about have CTR medium or better. Personally, I've got at least CTR low and make do with ultra CTR while having VH MSI.

Positive shock resistance is cool, too.

"Oh, welcome to the world of not needing UVs."

Surprise twist, trinkets give you bonuses which in turn are UV's

wiki Abilities

Not according to what has become standard terminology. Trinkets give you abilities (bonuses), and UVs give you abilities, but trinkets do not give you UVs. See the wiki page Abilities.

Heart trinkets for only the

Heart trinkets for only the really hard places (Shadow lairs).

Status trinkets on the right armors can greatly cut status power (taking only 4 seconds of effect from a Strong fire at T3 depth is great).

Defensive trinkets can bolster armor UVs to viable levels and enhance your natural defenses.

Offensive trinkets can allow you to use more defensive armor (Dread Skelly w/sword trinks can match Snarby's power and have defense) or vary your offensive choices (bomb CTR on a sword armor can let you drop a Haze or Vortex quickly to aid your team or yourself)
