while "Steam" Discussions and forums have bad reputation here, i just want to know if what this user said its true:

With every single update bringing in box promos and reskinned crap, they're destroying the game performance wise. It's already bad enough that it runs on Java, but every time they come out with a promo each patch only weighs down the game folders with thousands of texture and model files. I run the game on dual SSDs configured to Raid-0 so the two drives act like one, and I recently re-installed the game. It took ~2 minutes just to delete the game folder and the files within. 2 minutes to uninstall a game on an SSD? No wonder people have so much lag all the time. After installing it again I viewed the properties for the game folder. For me, a fresh install consisted of 1,941 folders and 14,104 files. All taking up a measly 864 MB. Soon enough you'll need to have SSD's, 32 GB of RAM, a 12 GB GPU and an 8-core CPU just to run the game smoothly. -http://steamcommunity.com/games/spiralknights/announcements/detail/153441709456559348

so im kinda concerned about this matter, anyone can confirm this? because then that mean i should start saving to upgrade my pc if a big update hits.

It really does have a lot of files but it only took a few seconds to delete on a single SSD (after backing it up of course) so I don't know what his problem was.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

there is no problem until the game needs to load all those models. and I don't think you will ever find a haven garden reuninon of all the costumes ever made. file size in your computer is only a problem when your hard drive is almost full.

Game is limited by default to use only 512MB of RAM, 52MB of Graphics card RAM and 1.3 ghz of processor and its single core, so it's impossible to raise those requiments because they're codded deeply into game's engine.

Mtax: I actually entered a command into the game's files to exceed up to 4 GB of RAM. Even Lockdown never lags anymore.

It's takes some effort, but it's possible to change some files and settings around to let SK use more ram. Quite sure the instructions (which aren't supported by OOO) are still floating around.

Yes, it is true that more models in game means more lag time. This would also be true if they added more monsters, levels... you know, expanded the game at all.

It isn't something to worry about unless you decide to load all of the models by say, using the preview feature on the auction house for twenty minutes. The big fix? Reload your client and don't go to haven + load everything.
