I am a vanguard who find it difficult to craft 5star gear (takes sooooooo long). But i was wondering which is the best gear for vana. I have a divine veil and have noticed it is shadow resistant and has fire defence, why does hardly nobody get the full suit? For shield crest of Almire is great but for weapons... I know electron vortex is good for solos and DA with Blitz but still...

Divine Avenger, Blitz Needle (Plague Needle if you are in a full party maybe and you have Fiend boosting UV on it), Shivermist Buster.
The last slot could include: Omega Tortofist, Nova/storm driver, Electron Vortex, Scintilating Sun shards (for status power), BTB/FF, Combuster, Voltedge, Glacuis, DVS.
Shield: Volcanic Plate Shield, Grey Owlite Shield, OmegaWard, Omega Shell, Power Mitt, Crest of Almire

Armor: Perfect Mask of Seerus (if you can't get CTR/ASI on your guns), Volcanic Demo (if you can't get CTR on your bombs), Vog Cub if you can't get ASI on your swords), Grey Feather (if you can get all that in Low or Med), Volcanic Plate (if you can get all that in High or Very High).

Shiver + Blitz + two weapons of your choosing that can kill or support. It really doesn't matter.
Your armor depends on how much damage you plan to tank, how much power you need, and most of all, what weapons you bring and how many UVs they have.
There have been dozens of threads on this over the years. Try searching Google for something like fsc loadout site:forums.spiralknights.com.
Few people wear full Divine because it has no normal protection, and there is actually a lot of normal damage in the hardest parts of Firestorm Citadel: Vanaduke's mace, slag guards, and trojans. For example, this is why Volcanic Plate Shield is popular for FSC.
Also, in my opinion, shadow protection is not very important in FSC, since almost all shadow damage comes from zombies, who are easily dodged. Normal, fire, and elemental protections are all more important.
There are many ways to beat FSC and Vanaduke, but I'll tell you one of the most popular: You want an elemental sword to kill undead and constructs along the way. I prefer Combuster, but all of them work. You also want some kind of heavy-damage gun, preferably with piercing damage. So many people bring Blitz Needle. If you wish to accelerate the earlier fights, a vortex bomb can really help. Finally, if you're not an expert at FSC yet, Shivermist Buster can really help control monsters, particularly Vanaduke himself.
