I have a Chroma Suit with an illegally-attached Tails Tails accessory that I put on it back when rear slots didn't exist (possible attachment window is somewhere around February-June 2012), and someone recently made an offer for it. This piece means a lot to me, so I don't particularly want to sell it, but I will if I get an offer that I can't refuse. But I'm not sure if the offer I'm looking for is even ballparking what it's actually worth. Does anyone have any idea? This is the only one in existence, as far as I'm aware.

I dont know how much it's worth but I wouldn't recommend selling it for cheap because there's probably a decent amount of ppl out there who will buy it for around 5x its value simply because it's the only one existing

I've been gone for a few days, sorry for the delay.
Oh, it's cool that there are others, I've never seen any and have searched the forums numerous times with nothing found. I suppose I'll never get a definite number with something so rare, there's no data pool to pull from. Yeah, but exclusivity.
I'm aware that the value of an accessory drops when it's attached to something. But the reasons I figure for that happening are that someone wants the accessory for something else, whether it be another armor piece, the same one with better UVs, whatever, or they just want the armor with nothing attached and don't want to pay extra for accessories they don't want. They can always make it themselves later if they really want to. It limits options when you redeem anything, leaving something unredeemed is usually the best way to make money from it, I get that.
But that changes when the combination in question is no longer available, when buyers no longer can make it themselves. Supply slowly dwindles into nothing, yet demand churns over and never really dies as long as new people are being introduced into the game. That leads to prices increasing. It's pretty apparent with other items in-game; items that Three Rings have/keep introducing into circulation again have significantly lower market prices than items that they have not, for example newer Rose Regalia stuffs versus older ones. The newer ones don't have anything attached to them, they're just more readily available in general. And I'm pretty sure that Deadshot Mantles and Chroma sets with illegal accessories attached will never reappear in the market ever again, limiting their availability drastically.
If demand is so low right now that no buyers are wanting to recognize this, then I have no problems waiting until the game picks up and the rest of the playerbase returns. Even if it never does, I have no real need of money right now, and this piece's value will only increase as time goes on. And considering how little I play the game these days, I've got all the time in the world to wait and watch what happens. Well typically an accessory's worth greatly decreases when put on an item. For an example, recently there was a vog coat with volc drags and a haunted aura in the AH for 450k cr. The wings alone are worth around 1mil, but the coat still went unsold.
