New Bombs: Attack Bonus, Defense Bonus, Status Immunity

Let's give bombers more weapons, something new that still fits in the game.
Instead of bombing the enemies, why not bomb your friends and give them boosts?

TL;DR
Bombers have a very limited play style: Haze bombs, Vortex bombs, DBB, or DR. That's all anyone uses.
(Nobody uses shard bombs because of the tink tink tink DPS issue.)

Let's turn bombing on its head. Instead of bombing enemies, why not have haze bombs that offer buffs?
Attack Bomb: Haze-type bomb, players who wander into the area of effect get a 3second (5sec?) attack bonus, just like the drop item.
Defense Bomb: Haze-type bomb, players who wander into the area of effect get a 3second (5sec?) defense bonus, just like the drop item.
Status Barrier Bomb: Haze-type bomb, players who wander into the area of effect get a 5second (8sec?) 3-ball spinning barrier just like the barrier drop items that nobody ever uses. You could have one of these bombs for each flavor of barrier item (poison, fire, freeze)
Status Immunity Bomb: Haze-type bomb, players who wander into the area of effect get a 8second (12sec?) immunity to all status effects that an enemy or environment may cause. Not to the damage, just to the status.
Speed Bomb: Haze-type bomb, players who wander into the area of effect get a 8second (12sec?) speed boost, just like the drop item.
Off topic bomb: the Fire Extinguisher: Haze-type bomb, oilers who wander into the area of effect get doused, like they do for Shiver. The oiler trails that catch fire get doused. The flamethrower puppy fire stops at the edge of the effect area. Note: this would not extinguish fire tiles that require water.
Is that too much? Here are some possible balance tweaks:
The bomber does not get the bonus, just teammates.
The area of effect can be smaller than current haze bombs (not too small--that will make it useless. I'm thinking the 5* version = area of our 4* current haze bombs).

I'm imagining the bomber laying down support bombs, having party members run in for the bonus and back out as they attack enemies. It's a completley new idea, not too hard to program, and uses existing game bonuses.

what you are saying is that players usually use the 60% of the bombs at their disposal. and it's true, but compared to swords (most used are brandishes and sealed sword lines) and guns (most used are polaris, valiance and antigua line) players see much less sword and guns variety than bombs. I have yet to see someone who brings a catalyzer into battle with a random team but me. cause I can see myself you know.
in total:
total sword types: 9 used: 2
total gun types: 8(+mixmaster) used: 2+ 1/2 (polaris, not supernova) + 1/3 (blitz, not plague or pepperbox) (+mixmaster)
total bomb types: 6 used: 4 + 1/4 (nitrome, but not everything else)

also, solo bombers would not be affected or would have too much advantage, according to your balacing tweaks.

Also why not include a bomb that boosts the sprite recharge rate? ASI? CTR?

In order to be more fair why not use certain bomb types for certain things?

For the offensive ones (CTR, ASI, DMG) use shard bombs
For MSI use a Blast bomb.
For barriers and use a vortex (just for the size and have the pull not affect knights) and have the effect happen on the blast (making barrier damage chain easy).
For defensive ones use the haze bomb.

The Bomber should get the bonus in order to aid those who play solo, you could also give the bomb's damage but lower than their normal variant, equal to the power reduction from the Deadly Dark Matter Bomb to the Shocking Salt Bomb (it gains a penalty due to slime damage perk and shock status)

I've been wanting items with effects like these for a while now, actually. I'd love for some guns and swords that allowed effects akin to these as well as these bombs, most of which look very nice.

The fire extinguisher seems a bit........ gimicky and worthless outside of a few oddly specific situations.

The status immunity bomb also seems a bit weak if anything. I can see it being great in lockdown, but outside of basically C42 and GitM, I can't see it being used seriously. It'd be neat if it inflicted enemies with the status they inflicted on you without regard to the fact that they're all immune to their own statuses? Or just not implemented at all... or perhaps just made for the lockdown community, where it would break everything.

The status barrier bomb... sounds awesome. 10 out of 10 would bomb again.

These sound really neat! At the same time as buffing teammates, it should still deal a center of damage. It's not a weapon if it isn't doing that(Think: haze bomb blast radius)
Also, extinguisher bomb could dampen statuses already inflicted. AKA, a poor man's remedy capsule. Either that or it cures fire and curse statuses, but but turns into a VT if you walk in shocked (Friendly fire to the not-bomber too?)

A few things I want to throw into the mix, balance-wise:
All bonuses from bombs are weaker than the orb counterparts, but stack with them. Multiple bombs of the same kind from different players do not stack however.
Barriers act like one stratum below its star level except for the bomb owner.
Immunity bombs shouldn't give immunity per-say, but perhaps increases all status resistances to +8 as a base. This means you cannot be immune to a status while under the effect unless you have resistance to it already, and strong statuses still leak through.

And on a different train of thought:
What buffs the player gives an opposite debuff to the enemies. Attack bonus for player? Attack debuff for enemy. Defense and speed do the same thing.

We already have a bomb that gives an attack and defense debuff to the enemy. It's called Venom Veiler. :P

But adding some combat abilities to a support bomb that is still more support than attacking would be great.
I mean, poison reduces attack and defense and prevents healing, but it doesn't alsobuff your teammates' damage directly. (Indirectly by lowering defense, but I mean, death mark the enemy and nothing new happens)

Giving more use to a bomb with one use (and that use is support) is never a bad idea in my book.

Deathmark bomb?

It'd be neat if we had a haze-style bomb that deathmarked enemies. However, I can see balance issues and confliction with VV. Could be somewhat balanced, though, cause it wouldn't debuff attack or prevent healing.
