So I was in Haven today.

Somebody named dulle something was selling a weapon.
Zone chat: "WTS heart of ice 1m ce"
So I whispered this player and said "um what do you mean selling heart of ice"
The person replied "it's like a hammer that's covered in ice. It's like an ice troika reskin"
Me: "where did you get it =o"
Other player: "maulos from the heart of ice dropped it"
Me: "Oh my god wow are you serious"
Other player: "yeah wanna buy it"
Me: "prove it to me that you have it."
Other player: "I'm sorry it's bound because I used it in the clockworks if you have 1m ce then you can first give me unbind cost to unbind it. I'm not a scammer."
Me: "no I'm poor just wanted to ask what that was about..."
Other player: "it's fine. Good luck finding your own if you want"
So the discussion dropped. That was it.

Was that player lying? Is it a rare weapon we didn't know about ???

Edit: I re-met the player who was selling the weapon. Here is the conversation.

Me: "hi u still have the heart of ice?"
Seller: "no sorry... I bought 50 dollars on Steam and unbinded it. I put it in AH for like 1 for bid price and 3 mil for buy off. Someone bought it in like 5 minutes"
Me: "when did it get sold?"
Seller: "like 4 hours ago"
Me: "Oh wow. Can you show me the 3 mil?"
Seller: " um ok"

We trade. He shows 3,045,019 crowns (all of his crowns).
Me: "um thanks lol"
After that I left the game to not be late to school...

Two reasons you know this is fake:

* There is no Mace of Maulos for knights to use in the first place
* The guy was trying to sell something for 1 million CE. You're talking like Njthug-type rich. If there even was something that valuable in the game, he would've been searching for Njthug, not offering it in Zone chat.

This guy is clearly a horrible scammer. You simply don't try to scam people for an impossibly large sum of CE for an item that doesn't even exist. It just doesn't work.

Even if the weapon was real, what is the point of buying it for 1 million Energy? You can just get a Triglav which is exactly the same thing as this was described. Ice Troika.

Also, meanderson, I doubt you are telling the truth since 1) you didnt even give out the player name (not naming and shaming since no accusations were made in your above post), and 2) you dont even have a screenshot, which any sensible person would do. octaslash I've been on the forums since 2012 and played SK since 2011. Why would I lie? That's ludicrous.

And no I won't give the player name since it's embarrassing for him and he did not give permission to post his name on the forums.

Okay sorry about the screen shot but it's too late. I thought people could trust me but apparently I'm wrong. I will provide screens for stuff from now on

Also didn't somebody mention the weapon in the game's files?

And no I personally did not see the heart of ice in AH. He could have easily been lying and gotten the crowns somehow different.

Hey everyone!

I've got some answers to this little issue, if you'll hear me out (and trust me).

The mace actually exists.
Because the fact of the matter is, there IS a Maulos mace weapon that IS wieldable by knights in the game files RIGHT NOW.
Octaslash posted the April Fools video I helped make earlier this year, and he indicated to the 6:30 timestamp to see what the mace would look like. In fact, that is what it actually looks like.
And indeed, we explained on the Arsenal Podcast Episode 74 how we did it.

How we did it:
For the curious and well-versed-in-the-not-so-obvious-files-of-your-computer, you can go to your Spiral Knights local directory (if you run off Steam, that's Steam > SteamApps > common > Spiral Knights) and path to rsrc > item > weapon > sword > heartofice > model.dat. Load up this file in Spiral Spy and see what you get!
If you don't believe me, just watch the video (see above)! We simply copied that heartofice model.dat file to replace the Triglav's model.dat file, and bam. The Triglav suddenly looks like Maulos's mace but acts like and has the stats of a Triglav.

So now what?
There is a difference between the item being in the game files and the item being accessible to knights. Fact is, the weapon has a 0% rate of being dropped for knights. It was never indicated by the developers, Maulos has fallen many a time without dropping the mace (compare with drop rates and multiple findings of Darkfang shields), and the mace has no name, description, or stats.
This person selling the 'mace' may have been pranked by someone who changed up his game files. Or he may have been trolling/scamming/etc. In any case, YES a mace exists. But NO it is not and cannot be in knights' possession or for sale.

The mace file is used in-game for Maulos himself. Then again, you should already know this by know.

There are other, more obscure files in the rsrc folder that never saw the light of day. Like a Roarmulus model that makes them look like gigantic Gun Puppies. It even has damage phases (basically T3, T2, then T1 skins) and an animation for the missile shower, laser attack, and the stunned/vulnerable section.
