Not sure if this is the right place to put this here, but I haven't played SK for a long time, decided to pick it up again, and suddenly everything changed so much.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me for Maskeraith, what augments should I take for each ability and the best way to allocate skill points to each ability.

You'll be able to max out everything sooner or later, so don't worry too much. I recommend starting with the cooldown reduction, and then choosing whatever I feel like is the most useful. For example, on the Cloak, I got the cooldown reduction followed by (I think) whatever gives the cloak a longer duration, and lastly, I picked the one which gives you more defence.

What you'll want to put more thought in is which ultimates to get. However, I urge you to just use google to research those, as it has been quite thoroughly discussed.

Have you read the Battle Sprite wiki page? It explains the basics, including the fact that there no "wrong" way to allocate skill points.

In general, for new sprite users, I think that cooldown reduction is the best improvement to get first. It lets you use your sprite skills more often, which helps get you into the habit of using your sprite skills. Too many players forget to use them.

The Google search that Krakob mentions is probably something like maskeraith ultimate site:forums.spiralknights.com. You'll find several threads.

Well skill reduction isn't necessarily the best route. My logic being that I'd rather use one worthwhile attack than 1.3 crummy ones. For maskeraith, I'd pump all resources into the first and then second skill, if I had to do it again.

The quills are the most damaging thing you can get, and they max out pretty well, while the cloak is best used when you can get the ultimate, but it still allows for some innovative gameplay that would otherwise be impossible. Mask's third ability is good, but not nearly as useful as the cloak. Yes, you can deal damage and later random status effects to a ton of enemies, destroying them. But would you rather damage the crowds a bit, or just zoom in on the healer or back of the big bad to get some hits in?
