Three Rings should explain

It is Three Rings' job to make the wiki, not ours (even if we donate hundreds of unpaid hours of labor to it).

The wiki should be accurate.

From these two assertions, it follows that Three Rings should write the Celestial Saber wiki page promptly and in a way that clears up this ambiguity.

I thought of that too, actually. Maybe it has some hidden attribute that goes beyond just the training hall bags.

I think buying reskins is a legitimate thing to do. It shows that you have given money to the developers, and have received something back in appreciation. The prize boxes are a bit misguided with the random factors etcetera, but they still accomplish this fairly well. The thing that gets to me is when they hold teeny tiny new mechanics over our heads for a hundred bucks, like with the overpowered mixmaster. That's just bad form on their part, as they could easily strive for something greater like they did in the beginning.

Speculation:
The Celestial Saber difference is attack range.

'cuz look at all the people that know FoV has increased range on the 2nd and 3rd slashes in an attack combo.

Anyways... we don't even have to know what this difference is, because only a handful of people are going to buy it, and only a select few of those people will actually use it.

@ Bopp

4 words...... Gran Faust Swing Speed

@everyone else

If someone has the blade please give us a link to a video or something that shows this blade in action, seriously just mash up a horde of clips showing you using all the attacks on the enemies. (charge and regular)

Bring one of the other spin swords if you have one for comparison or bring an ally who has some. FOV, CIV, Scissor blades, Lionheart honor blade, and the Leviathan blade. (scissor and lionheart are reskins of leviathan so just bring one of the three.)

BUMP

We still don't know what it does and I still want to know what it does. I just saw the sword used on a random assortment of monsters, and none of them appeared to do anything new or improved.

I think the difference is either very subtle in something like range, or something else altogether, like that it works against a particular enemy or is able to trigger a particular event.

EDIT: It is actually a straight upgrade from the leviathan that does stun randomly. We tried it out in the training hall again to test the range, and it has a very low chance of stunning.

That's really really crummy... SEGA should really consider making a freely craftable but normal looking variant, even if it has to be like... a winterfest reskin of some sort. The sword is already the greatest weapon of all time just because of it's looks.

I guess last time I was just incredibly unlucky and never saw the stun come out, I wasn't lying to you guys though. I'll go change the last post.

chances?

If your friend with the Saber will indulge you, I'd love to have 100 tries at stunning, with a report of how many succeeded. In particular, I'm wondering whether this is a new level of chance below "slight".

I'll see what I can do, if I can do. We really need to find someone willing to just post directly though.

Hello! I have the saber!

Hello! The saber does stun, thought it's very random. It seems to happen quite often on stationary enemies, such as Howlitzers. This leads me to believe that the stun is inflicted if an enemy is hit by the charge enough times. I wouldn't mind helping you test it out, although it sounds like Fehzor has someone to do that already :)

please do

Please do run a test. It's not clear that Fehzor's friend will indulge us, and even if s/he does, it's nice to have more data.

The simplest test would be: Go to the guild hall Advanced Training Hall. Charge against the dummy 100 times. Record how many times stun was inflicted.

Great

Edit: Making it clearer:

I attacked the dummy 50 times.

It was stunned 16 times.

thanks!

Thanks, Mister-Master-The. If you get bored and want to collect more data, we'd love to have it.

Well whenever I tested it, I was using their time and it had to be whenever we were both free to just go goof off in the training hall. I feel sort of bad for stalking them for their data lol, so it's a good thing that we got Flamsthrone/Mister-Master-The to test it out.

Stun confirmed

Next questions are Swing speed, Charge rate, and damage per hit (charged and noncharged).

If the Wiki is correct about damage, and everything but stun is the same with the Leviathan blade then this is just a pure upgrade and it needs some balancing factor (not that balance has been an issue to those with BK sets, Chaos sets, and Brandishes).

wiki is just a guess?

The wiki page damage table was filled in by Glacies. I don't really know whether he has done extensive testing. He might have just copied the table from Leviathan, assuming they do equal damage.

The test that I did showed that the damage was 100% the same, at least at the level of damage we were at. I think that was very high? It might start lower or do something funky. I mean I doubt that it would, but no harm in checking now that we have someone w/ the sword to test it.
