Second coming? Probably not.
As it stands, Blast Network is mostly curious players interested in trying it out, the devoted players who stick around because of the sheer love of flashy explosions and the level of strategy/thought put into the game play, and maybe a bit of a middle ground. Blast Network has been around quite a while, but I doubt that there will ever be a real surge in players without a real reason to, given that Lockdown has a bit more pull to it, not to mention it doesn't re-design game mechanics to fit the situation like Blast Network does (as much, anyways), which makes Lockdown easier to pick up and play. Doesn't help that the coliseum has started suffering from a player drop since the start-up of school in a lot of places, either.
...
That said, I would love to see it get a bit more popular. Being one of those devoted players who tries to get into any game of it they can, it gets kinda lonely waiting a couple hours for that one chance at a match...

I kind of like BN, but my red bar connection really keeps me from going there, at the end when bombs are exploding everywhere and all across the map you get killed from instant explosions you get to see about 1-2 seconds later so it just turns into just spamming bombs everywhere you can as fast as you can, and crossing fingers hoping not to kill yourself in the process :P
and I very rarely (dark rituals book rare) play LD because of how unbalanced it is and well... lets say that i prefer to stay away from the part of the players that like LD abit too much. so I guess that was GG pvp for me :)

There is a problem here: There's no incentive.
You used to have a lot of reason to play BN: If you had no energy, you'd play BN. If you want the coins, play BN. Then LD happened. You could play BN if you didn't have good gear and/or didn't want to play LD, but that's it.
Then elevators lost their energy cost. BN died. OOO, bring back reasons.

It is sometimes more efficient for grinding Krogmo Coins.
It is really fun :D
You can play it WITHOUT trinkets >->
No good UV's that can unbalance the game.
No auto target rants.
Better community IMO (There's no people constantly calling other people noobs.)
It's just underrated.
If they added Blast Network specific tokens and prizes, it would be back in a hurry.
