Why does it feel like their is a Lag on off button?

Hello everyone and Technical support.
I am wondering why it is that i am playing spiral knights, and their is weird lag coming and going?

Just before the Black Kat event, i was encountering problems. Lag was fairly bad and i ended up doing a test.
I got WTFast for 30 days and have currently 22 days left.
Since i used that, i reduced my ping enough, to get ALOT LESS LAG!

Then comes the Black Kat event.
I have noticed some weird problems happening, i had my shield up for 5 seconds and i was dead... Uh, is my shield on or what?
I had my shield up, and i died exactly where i was holding my shield.
I Closed every non essential internet process and tried to clean it enough to do my run...
Seemed to have changed... Turned out i was wrong.
My lag has being Spiking ALOT since the Black Kat event.
Only 3 days in and the lag started Yesterday.
I have had lag before hand, but that was because some connections i have found are not compatible at all.

(Also for anyone wondering, Haven 1-7 i found are hosted in USA. Also Every guild hall is hosted in USA) Luckily its not the major of the lag.

I Did a speed tests on the Speed test site, and now im going to do it on pingtest site.

Now my ping test on the other site did however say id get loads of lag. But its not using the Private gaming service i am using!

I know for certain that if i am on a private gaming network i should not get this massive lag.
Researching into it, apparently the Kat event was rushed off and was never made right.

The question i have is, why would OOO and Sega want to let their consumers down with Spiral knights?
Loads of people like and play it.
Loads of people started quitting as soon as the lag got immensely bad as it did.

I do not believe that OOO and Sega would let the consumers down.
Even thou we do feel down, that's not their intention.

What i believe they should do to help fix some problems, is study a few things.
For long ranged players, do tests as they play the game, Gather information that would be Vital to fixing MAJOR problems.

If i was in their shoes with the skills in coding, id be looking into compensating for the distance our connection has.
I have being told "Its not possible" By people that never EVER looked into such a thing.
Two ends receive.
One Expects more then the other.

A Server has the control over if that hit was avoidable or not, depending on lag ping and other information.

Data being sent in seconds is all the information needed to determine if it was possible or not.
3 seconds 22 Millie Seconds.
Server decides to make that hit voided or not, depending on your position in the world.

I Strongly believe that this will pay a major, and vital role, in the future of the gaming industry.

Also the title of this was to try and attract people to come and hear what i had to say.
One reason i chose that name, is because i feel like their is a lag button. The lag button being certain events that may not be coded correctly.
Or a lag button being when someone clicks to join my party.
These are Benefactors that will make your Lag a real problem.

Okay no.1 What the hell is WTFast? I searched it up and got it resulted as some private networking system. I've further searched forums to see the reliability of this application, and they said it was quite reliable. I've also seen their site, and it doesn't really say Spiral Knights is a supported game, so you might want to reconsider using that program. I can believe that this app helps to reduce latency by doing proper routing, but since SK is not supported I don't suppose it knows where to reroute to.

No.2 I do not know where you are ping testing and what you are trying to prove. Why are you ping testing random areas in the UK? If you don't live in the UK then you shouldn't be connecting to the UK.

No.3 That post you referenced proves only the community's experience last year. This is the only substantial proof that the servers are overloaded from the mass influx of clockwork runs made by the players. Yes, server overload is a thing.

No.4 Please reconsider the rest of what you said. I do not wish to see inaccurate information. 3 seconds and 22 milliseconds? I don't suppose you mean 322 milliseconds of ping (322ms = 0.322s, 322cs (centiseconds) = 3 seconds and 220 milliseconds)? Also, long distance connections is not a cause of server overload, it's just purely having to run 1000s' of haven instances/clockwork runs on the servers that causes it.

You say WTFast does not support Spiral knights? Well you made a mistake just saying it does not. It told me the server location for SK is in Ireland, also its data base has alot of games listed. I just type in and it finds the game.
I picked the closest servers to Ireland, and that is in Germany.
They also say on their help forums how to get the best connection. Pick the closest one to the server you wish to connect too, in this case the server i wanted was in Ireland, it does however have a defect.
If i choose to connect to Ireland server, and i am routed to Germany. I will have a worst connection IF i switch straight to the Ash Burn server.
Ping reaches about 500 when i do such.

My ping tests i did, were the closest location's to Ireland i could get. Give or take some distance. Why complain? It tells you not to just test a single server. Try multiple servers.
My Jitter has to be bellow 10, and on 2 of 3 tests, the Jitter was 1ms, either a glitch or true value.

If the servers are overloading, then why don't try try and fix this, and prevent it happening?
OH wait... Because this game is almost over, and soon no one will play anymore... Perfect time to pack the servers up and no returns, unless they take it down to rebuild it from the bottom up!

Also that information with the 3 secs and 22ms was to give a bit of a idea of how SK can possibly gather the information to make lag less of a problem.
MY best example i can give is:

(Client) A Packet sent time is 00:01.31
(Server) A Packet received time is 00:02.12

Packet that is 1.31 was sent that much after it received a packet from the server.
The server received the packet 2.12 second's after sending it to the clients computer.

Also Zaffy-Laffy, a personal message i want you to know:

1: I get negative impressions from what your saying to me. Its quite obvious you are not a teacher, because all teachers that read my stuff understand it well, also asking what i meant when i said things.

2: You do not have to personally put me in the dirt. I have enough jerks doing that already. Especially since just about every player i met in SK now wants to use me because they are lazy. Milleretta says she sucks at the game, yet she has done a Shadow lair all the way to the end. And when she joins me, she dies as quick as she can join.

3: If you do not like my grammar, that's your personal problem. I am reporting Technical difficulty with a light suggestion on the side. And i wont redirect my suggestion because it only supports my problem, and it might (Not that it will) help to make connections better in future.

4: I Realize i have not answered you complete and direct, but i got school in the morning. If you still do not understand me, i will ask my teachers to help me write something that you can understand. But if you can not understand their grammar, then don't get your head twisted in this and question literature that is not mine.

5: Just to make this the final thing i gotta say. Don't be negative towards me. The text is going in the order of who sent what. I know your going to read this and get a negative idea towards yourself because of what i said in response to you. Its 1:17 AM, im tired, but also i wanted to respond back to you for your questions. Also note that i have no idea how to freaken use commands. Their is no Advanced view of anything. And if i could send images of what i get on WTFast program i would send you. But i can not just simply paste a image here. IT has to be supplied by a 3rd party.

That should cover enough for now.
My literature skills are bad i know. And my profession is not sending messages, nor do i have alot of experience in these forums.
But when i do post in other forums i have had less negative responses then what i get hear, unless you count out GSC World, which i got 50 50.

Also to anyone who has a problem with what ever i write. IF you got such a problem with it, report it to GM, Moderators and Officials.
Im almost certain they wont just close it because its bugging you.

But know this, i am hating the lag that comes and goes. It gets worst and worst and then comes good for a little while.
If it CAN be fixed, i will be happy. Now excuse me, i need to go sleep. I wish i could write more, but then i will just bore you and you will not hear me. Right now you prob already walked away cause my text is always like that.

Anyway thanks for trying to understand.
And know that my frustration is show in my words.
IF you get mad because of this... Well, use that to understand my lag problem. Then maybe you will have some understanding.

My main question was that why are you connecting to the Ireland server and not the US server knowing that you will get a worse connection if you do so. From all your pingtests it seems you live really far away from Ireland itself. For anyone playing the game, if you live in UK, use Ireland, else use US.

I'm also not making any negative impressions on you, please don't use personal attacks. I did not make any remarks on your grammar or your expressions, other than a few probable misunderstandings. I still do not understand what you meant to void a connection if it was (for your example) 3 seconds and 22 milliseconds.

I'm also commenting that your suggestion on fixing lag is rather invalid (if you really want to see negativity, post your suggestion into the suggestions subforums then). Server overload is the lack of capacity of servers to fulfill requests, in SK case where there are so many clockwork runs going on simultaneously, the servers compensate some consistency for more capacity. It's not as simple a fix because OOO don't own the servers, they merely pay for it, so OOO don't have spare or extra servers just lying around and it just isn't possible to hook up an extra server in a day or 2's time. Please understand this is the reason why we always have server overloads, and can be seen by so many examples out there, Pokemon Bank being one.
