Well, you can get TLL whole year, that's first thing. And I guess that chance for it is smaller

Well yeah but I don't usually run the level with the most turrets on it for 12 hours straight every day either, knowing it is my only chance.

I've now found one true love locket (strangely, at the last kat event too, lol) and two books. I'd say that, because we're hunting black kats, we'd see more books (and thus have a higher chance) but since we're not hunting turrets (nor have levels consisting almost entirely of turrets) we won't see as many lockets, even though they probably have the same spawn chance.
I've probably killed around 30-60 or so love puppies and gotten one locket, but killed hundreds of black kats and gotten two books.
So my guess is the locket.

IMO the locket is almost without a doubt a rarer drop. It's a rare drop from a rare enemy, whereas the book is a rare drop from an uncommon enemy.
Although as Mtax said, while the locket may be a rarer drop, the book is likely rarer due to it not being available year-round.
So... they're both rarer than eachother, just in different ways (the book is rarer in that it's likely less exist, the locket is rarer in that it's an overall rather rare event for one to drop).

I actually had a TLL drop off a love puppy in Candlestick Keep two nights ago. I thought it was interesting to see a post discussing the rarity of it compared to the book.

The book is almost certainly less than a 1% drop, as I've seen many many people that haven't gotten it for at least 500+ kats. You may dissmiss my evidence in that it is relatively cherry picked, but I'd like to point out what I said to glacies earlier- that your odds at 1% (given 500 trials) is around 99.3%, whereas at .5% it's closer to 91%, which feels much more reasonable. I've heard from at least 5 if not 10 people that have gone the 500+ w/ no drops, which means that I would have to be drawing them from a pool of around 700 people, at least. This is almost certainly not the case.

I think the TLL is rarer just cuz Love Puppies almost certainly spawn less than BKs.
