It was hard to process what happened, but while I was being chased by a Grimalkin, a mewkat spawned and got caught by the Grimalkin's bite. It died, then dropped a Ghostly Aura. The wiki page didn't mention Mewkats dropping anything as valuable as an aura.

not treasure box?

It's hard to tell from the transcript, when that drop happened. You're sure that it didn't drop from a treasure box that you opened?

(I have no particular reason to doubt you. I'm just trying to make sure that only accurate information enters the wiki.)

Nuh uh

Nnnnnnnope. I wasn't even close to a treasure box during that time. Apparently a friend of mine who's been playing SK for 4 years confirmed that Mewkats in fact do drop Ghostly Auras, as Love Puppies drop True Love Lockets. So I think it's safe to adjust the wiki page.

I've heard they drop haunted aura too.

I was in the "Purr Terror" mission the other day, and I saw a Mewkat spawning in place of a regular Spookat/Statikat. Killed the Mewkat, got a Ghostly Aura from it as it vanished in a wisp of ectoplasmic smoke. And yes, I most certainly took screenshots of everything before & after, because I was quite surprised that it spawned at all. >.> <.< >.>

On the first day of the May BK event a friend and I were doing the daily mission for the first time. We found a Mewkat and ruthlessly slaughtered it.

I obtained a Ghostly Aura.
He obtained a Haunted Aura.

This was my first Mewkat in my entire 3 years of playing SK. Since we both got auras I assumed this happened every time. :-/
I was disappointed after killing my next Mewkat. :'(

I recall we obtained different auras because I remember we discussed trading them.
I have no screenshots to substantiate my story.
