Well then.

This game has been my addiction for the past 2 years. I've grown bored of it at times, tried to run from this addiction, but every time, I come back. Every single time, because this game is extraordinarily unique. There is no other game out there that I will ever love as much as Spiral Knights. But that being said, it's an amazing game, but you guys are kind of being secretive. There's rarely been any interactions, you don't tell us whats going on. I don't care if your job is to design stuff, to program the stuff, or just the do market research, at least talk to us.

It's not that hard. Just give us an indication that you're still trying for us. Just a simple, "We're still here, making things for you" is fine. But just give us something. An announcement saying what was just released is not fine. You're just stating facts at that point. You've done stuff that made us hate you. You've done stuff that made us love you. This world that you created is amazing. My friend asked me the other day, if you could only play one game for the rest of your life, but have an infinite debit card, what game would it be.

My answer was Spiral Knights.

We remain loyal to you. Can't you just say something that shows you appreciate our loyalty to you?

Yours Truly,
Saberxbro

I'm nowhere near active

I'm nowhere near active anymore and haven't logged in to the game for a good while now, but it seems like community involvement is at its lowest with Nick now out of the picture. I went back to April and the only "in development" topic I found was from this time last year, obviously posted by Nick. Everything else is just patch notes.

I'm not a fan of developers getting too cozy with the community because it can come back to bite them in the end if they create unrealistic expectations, but at this point I think it's worth putting out something.

You know, actually we're barely even getting patch notes anymore. Sure, the ones we didn't get probably would have amounted to "Behind the scenes changes" or "Added next month's lockboxes", and people did complain a bit about those tiny patches, but in my opinion, if there's a patch, there should be patch notes. (There's even a button on the updater, after all!)

Maybe if you don't have anything important to patch, wait until you do and patch it then? (If those little patches are actually important, well then there should be patch notes.)

I don't play as often as I used to, and I often only have time to log in for the daily prestige mission, so if I don't even know there has been a patch (since there weren't any patch notes), I suddenly have to unexpectedly wait for the game to update first.

Sure, it's a minor thing, but it's yet another brick in the wall of "we don't communicate with you players anymore", and that's quite sad.
