you know how we all are just wasting away in the coliseum fighting for hours straight?
what if there was a 'Capture the Flag' mode where you ran to the opponents side to take [insert item idea here] and had to bring it back.
there could be some de-buff type thing that happens when you pick up the flag.
something like you couldn't attack and enemies could see you on the map.
you would take double damage and you could even pass the [item] to someone on your team.
Trinkets would have no effect and a set of armor would be automatically equipped so nobody could wear a Black Kat set to increase movement speed.
shields could only be used by people who are not carrying the [item].
There could be buttons that activated traps like spikes and flames, and even some new trap that could release some type of stunning gas or a new acid trap that removed armor protection. none of these traps would activate until someone stepped on the corresponding button.
If someone died while holding the [item], it could be recovered by both teams instead of going all the way back.
The maps could be designed after boss stratum areas, such as the first floor of the ice queen(oh,that part was harder than the boss itself.)
In fact, the teams would even have to work together at some parts or they wouldn't be able to pass.
Even though this is not a very creative idea, it still seems to be a good one. Please comment if you have any ideas you wish to add or if you want to give feedback.
Rather than limiting armors why not give an MSD of high to anyone who picks it up in addition to making shields useless.
I am all for removing trinkets (from all LD games) for balance but with the current offensive mechanics of the game anyone who picks up the "flag" would get killed in one or two hits.
Most players are more concerned about damage (seriously I have been on losing LD teams even though all my teammates had the highest damage because I couldn't get any help in capping) and escorting a flag from point A to point B would probably not be on their to do list. (snipers on 2fort for example)
We already have traps in game but giving players control over when they activate will end up creating players who focus on teamkilling rather than support, rather give them the ability to turn them off for a short amount of time.
Rather than letting the Flag be picked up by both teams just put a timer on it that sends it back to base when it runs out, if it gets picked up and dropped again the timer resets. This means that a team will have to defend a flag once it has been dropped but they can't pick it up (because some jerk will carry it over to the enemy spawn).
