does heat matter because when you die it says everything is lvl 1 or is just gear matters or something of that sort?

yeah people get confused when I rapid-fire OC and it doesn't show it as level 10 or show the asi I spent metric tons for

It would be rather convenient if the game did properly show you the level (and unique variants) of the weapon that dealt the killing blow, but I'm assuming that's far beyond OOO's capabilities. (Thank you, SEGA)
Ok, in LD, when you see the weapon that killed you, you are seeing a default image of the weapon. It is the default, which means it does not reflect the stats of the weapon that was weilded. Its the equivalent of it just telling you that a Final Flourish killed you (thats all it does).
Heat does matter.
