what the game says is that
our planet isora was in the morai wars (doesnt say who they are (or that our planet has a core))
we set out on the skylark to save isora by finding an energy source
we find cradle, and are going to tap into some of the cores energy to save isora
some laser cannons shoot us down (we dont know who did it)
we now need to get to the core to take energy to fix the skylark primary engine
cradle bits
tinkezar helped the core build cradle (tink is the architect)
he betrays the core, locks it up, and releases the swarm
herex betrays and leaves the crimson order

lord vanaduke was a king, when his kingdom was attacked he ran
he found some fire source and in the process of beating the invaders or whatever he destroyed his own kingdom
now he's trapped on the "prison" of his body (the lost soul of almire says this)
easily noticed the lore isnt that specific, but thats all the game says

I got your Lore covered.
The game actually doesn't say anything about King Tinkinzar helping the core build the clockworks. It actually doesn't even say that the Core is a deity of some sort.
As for Lord Vanaduke, Lore on his transformation can be found on the Wiki page for Firestorm Citadels
On Isora and the Spiral Knights,
According to the prologue scene, The skylark was fleeing the "Morai Wars" and had completed a partial scan of the Surface of Cradle when it was brought down by an unknown force.
Morai,
No official lore concerning this species, but they have a military force(Alpha Squad leader Euclid apparently broke his teeth battling under Morai fire.) and they have a structured command system(Iron Wolf/Dragon armor and helm state that the groups were tasked with hunting down High Profile Morai officials.)
Kats vs Owlites,
The Kat vs Owlite war is touched on in the flavor text/description of each group's armor.
-Owlites: The Owlites were scholars that had access to magic. They held academies where their crests can be found.
-Kat Klan: A group of warriors that brought about the extinction of both the Owlites and the Kats. Four Kat Klan members are named.
a)Margrel: The kat who opened the book of grey feathers and caused the extinction of the races, said to have bad luck.
b)Scraith: Kat tribe Hero, First to scale the walls of the Owlite High Academy
c)Preowa: Kat tribe Hero, Silenced the Grey Feather Tower Sages
d) Torair: Kat Tribe Hero, Clung to the Gates of the High academy as it and his explosives burned
Crimson Order,
Only two confirmed members: Warmaster Seerus, and the Whispering Venom Herex(Who has betrayed/Quit the Crimson Order)
The Crimson Order are the only ones who answer to King Tinkinzar. They seem to be at odds with each other. When fighting Warmaster seerus, he asks if Herex has sent you. Each of the members also seem to have their own minions. Razwog can be seen answering to Herex and SputterSparkk to Seerus.

Here is my official fan fic story line, none of these are official, so yeah...
-- 200 years before Skylark fall: the great war --
The great war was fought among the old factions on the planet of Isora. One managed to rule supreme over all other factions and established the Spiral Confederacy. The confederation unified the Isora into a single nation at the cost of a major nuclear war (millions died), during this time, most of the Isora's past history, art forms and religions were destroyed to give away to the iron fists of the Spiral confederacy.
-- 60 years before skylark fall: First Isoran civil war --
After almost 2 centuries of brutal regime from the Spiral Confederacy, a group known as the 'sons of Isora', consisting Aphrodite, Eurydice, Hyperion, Oceanus and Atlanta decided to openly revoult against the the confederacy, after a suprise attack on numerous confedercy high ranking officials in the capital city, the confederacy was no more. However, after a dispute between the members of the 'Sons of Isora' on what kind of government they were going to establish, Oceanus was killed in the process. In the aftermath, Spiral Order was created, a more sophisticated version of the spiral confederacy which rules Isora as a totalitarian government. During this time, Spiral Oder was also able to acquire the old confederacy orbital fleet, Skylark was one of the 'Nemesis' class medium battle cruisers. She once had five other sister ships.
-- 10 years before skylark fall: Second Isoran civil war AKA: battle of Nowensgrad --
After just 50 years in power and all of the original members died due to old age, Spiral Order realized that history does repeat it self. A group of low ranking knights, who were oppressed by the rich vanguards decided to start a rebellion in the second largest city of Isora, Nowensgrad. The rebels slaughtered most of the rich families in the city and turned the place into a Heaven for the poor. Ozlo, who was the admiral of the Isoran Orbital Fleet, sent a portion of the fleet to crush the rebellion, the rebellion was destroyed, but not without a fight. Two of Skylark's sister ships and one of the two 'overlord class' heavy battlecruisers were destroyed during the war, a devastating blow of Ozlo's strength. And adding insult to injuries, Isora was on the verge of an energy and resource crisis. With no other avenue to persue, Ozlo dispatched the rest of the fleet to the Morai homewolrd of Ruia in a desperate attempt to save Isora.
-- 1 year before Skylark fall: Morai war (THINGS IS ABOUT TO GET REAL) --
The plan of saving Isora was set in motion, planet Ruia has a similar structure as cradle, with an energy core in the planet centre, however, the only ship in the fleet that has the ability to extract such a power was the fleet capital ship 'Overlord'. Ozlo planned on using weapons of mass destruction to wipe out the Morai race which caused a major mutiny among his deck staffs. He even dismissed Biscotti, the vice admiral of the fleet to work in the kitchen, reducing her down to a chef. (Still wondering why biscotti always put dark matters into her cupcakes? Yes, she wants to poison Ozlo.)
Morais were a group of xenomorphs that were twisted after generations of inbreed and artificial population control, and they were ruled by a depraved emperor, Deus Aradama. Despite Desna and her fellow Iron wolves' heroic effort in eliminating the emperor, the Isoran orbital fleet was destroyed by Morai homeworld's ground defence. Only Skylark survived without severe damage. Ozlo watched as his last hope of his home's salvation burned to a crisp.
