OK, I've been recently trying to build the last two weapons of my Ice Queen Set. (Other two are Umbra and Combuster.) So I have created all four of these weapons. My question is, what is the difference between the two damage swords and support normal guns? Or should I mix and match?
Gran Faust & Supernova or Acheron & Valiance?

Acheron is great but for masses of monsters you want heavy swords that will give you room to breath. In general Supernova is better than Valiance in both damage and crowd control, the Valiance does have the benefit of reliable knockback from any range and faster bullets but jellies and constructs aren't the kind to dodge bullets or move fast anyway.
You could also bring an Obsidian edge if you absolutely LOVE brandishes and want something to provide more team support.

DMG vs DPS
Gran faust hits hard, can hit 3/4 enemies at the same time, can curse, good knockback (queen cant be cursed)
Acheron is a medium sword,Easy to use, can hit 1/2 enemies. Charge atack is safe and can be spammed, out DPS the grand faust in normal atacks
Supernova Long range and usefull againts Giant linchens, is a MUST HAVE for all Shadow lairs
Valiance is More like a main weapon for gunner. or a weapon you use to finish off an enemy, charge atack is useless (less dmg/same as 2 normal hits)
I recommend the Obsidian edge because it can poison enemies
So
Acheron+Supèrnova for a safe and quick run (You dont need a shadow sword, you got the combuster)
Ice Queen is one of the easiest Shadow Lairs. That said, it's nice to have a big sword that can hold a crowd of slimes at bay. Gran Faust is a strong weapon there.
Although Acheron is obviously very powerful, I feel that it's somewhat redundant with Combuster in Ice Queen. I mean, if you have time to charge up a Brandish, then one that unleashes lots of elemental and fire is pretty good.
Supernova could be pretty useful, for knocking monsters back. I'm thinking of some lumbers in the corner rooms of the second level. Valiance also has nice knockback. I don't own Supernova, but I might go with that over Valiance.
By the way, your party could be greatly helped by someone with Ash of Agni, Voltaic Tempest, Venom Veiler, etc.
