One's of LEGO's most successful in-house IPs, BIONICLE, is returning next year! Discuss if anyone's a fan. I know someone here's called Oohnorak (or Vohtarak, as he or she prefers), which is a Visorak from BIONICLE.
BIONICLE is returning in 2015!
I really missed BIONICLE. It was always how amazing the lore was in the movies and the complexity of the building sets that drew me in each series. Shame it was replaced by Hero Factory for a time, but now I'm glad it's back.
I loved the series but by the last generation they switched to a cheap plastic, it hold well but is so brittle you can't really play or design with it.
(I'm talking about the ball and socket joints)
I've got old Gen 1 pieces that still work but in the last generation I had pieces for a day before they cracked; I'll get one but if the plastic is still low grade I don't see me getting back into it.
Ah yes, I do still remember those movies and some of the containers/figurines I have around here somewhere: Although, I really didn't take it too seriously after gen 1/2; Just watched those and stopped there. Two movies, I'm done. (This was back when I was about 5-7 so yeah)
@ HN
If you're buying those $1-5 ones (Not the small BIONICLES, the normal sized with no combinations instructed on the back. Also they do literally sell them at dollar tree/5 below here. 5 below does have some good deals though via t-shirts most likely.), then it's going to be cheap plastic most likely. You'd need to buy the more money counted ones like $10-15 if you want a total money's worth.
What were your favorite sub-series/group of Bionicles. Mine was Toa Metru and Piraka (Barhakka? Barahka? I forget the spelling (wrong group anyways but it's spelled Barraki)).
I really liked the first generation, mainly because Lewa had such a badass mask (and I were pretty young and loved green). Ironically I never owned any Bionicle from the first generation, apart from Borohk (you know, the wannabe sonics).
I actually liked the last generation. No not Stars, the one before, the ACTUAL last generation, the last one with with a story. Although it's a little cliché these times to make a game out of a LEGO product I loved the design on them. And the movie was actually reasonably good, although I was way to old for its actual audiences at that time.
Also, those evil snake monsters from "The mask of Light" were awesome enemies. Actually, the Borohks had some amazing stories behind them too.
On another note, it looks like this is just going to be a reboot from gen 1 with bulkier models. And seriously...
Oh, wait...turns out that there's more to this than I thought. Some of them actually looks like they are going to have a change in design!
I liked the vizorak and the vahki enemies
I hav arrived at my favorite thread
(and yes, I would prefer vohtarak
Are you serious? Is this for real? Please tell me its true? PLEASE?????
I wonder if they will get Cryoshell to do the music for them again....
Hero factory was the line that populated the adaptable and protean ball-and-socket joints. Why did they stop on HF, instead of refining it more? etc. making it cyberpunk like ninjago did.
YES!!!! I don't know why I'm still a fan of that, BUT I AM.
Although, they will probably mess it up...
