Last night I was trying to make spiral knights a lot smoother to play because one of the laptops I play sk on is total garbage even on 64 bit. When looking into the files to fix a few things I found a file containing models of weapons armors npc's and monsters.

I was curious about the monsters and actually found files of the golden trojan http://m.imgur.com/sPCX3p8
And even the vog cubs http://m.imgur.com/CMdaCPL
I couldn't find any files of the jelly green giant so my guess is that it was just never meant to be. However there was one monster that got my attention. It was a type of wolver called a welp http://m.imgur.com/6GJcL6e

Now what is a welp? Was it another monster that was never mentioned in the preview trailer and just got taken out, a new monster that should come in a future patch, or a new battle sprite? If anyone has any answers please let us know.

Just wondering, did you take these with a phone or something? Theres a windows program called "snipping tool" that can even be found in windows 7. Just trying to help you out a bit.

I do not have an answer for the question you need answered, but I am wondering if those mobs were in beta and were taken out.

Hmm I've fought worse

That monster I believe has been there since the launch of the game and you can actually see what it looks like by creating a npc wolver model in spiral spy and browsing through the skins of it, it looks just like wolver without tail if you ask me, and with a slightly different face texture.

Will it be used in a future update? maybe, the sword that arkus holds was also a skin for the leviathan that had been there for long time but never actually used until the silent legion mission.

I thought it looked more like a purple badger based on the assets and coloration.

If it's really that old, it's a shame we don't have them or the Vog Cubs, because beasts are pretty low tier easy.
Only 2.5 types of beasts while we have plethora of fiend and undead? I mean come on, give wolvers a chance.

following your logic fiends have about 8 different types: Trojans, silkwings, devilites, yesman, pit bosses, greavers, overtimers and gorgos, did I miss anything?
*edit* vanaduke as well since you counted snarbolax too, so that makes 9.

So yeh beasts are the shame of the monster families in SK

Yes i used a phone for the pictures but i just want to prove that i found these on the files of the game itself

@Oohnorak thats not the wiki. An it cant be a badger because it was on the wolver folder everything in that folder are wolvers.

Oohnorak (Vohtarak?) is right

They're called badgers, I saw the actual model on Spiral Spy some time ago, and they were under that name.

Why are wolvers called "wolvers" anyway? They look and act more like weasels, ferrets, martins, or mongooses (mongeese?) than they do wolves.
