Why weren't these Kat Suits the Designs for the craftable Kat Armor?

They clearly look more like a set than the Raiments do. Why aren't these the armor designs? Did they make these ones costumes because they had two new designs in mind, and felt like the Raiments couldn't qualify as a promo? That's kinda...lame.

That's a very very good question.

Making balanced items with actual stats takes effort. A blatant cashgrab does not.

Hmm, I've fought worse

Your comment is a bit out of place here djokson, they're talking about why the model for the kat suits were not used for the kat raiment armors since they seem to fit the kat helmets more than the actual kat armors themselves.

I guess people wanted

I guess people wanted something to go with their Kat helms without having to ragefarm for Book of Dark Rituals

You know, that sounds pretty accurate. The only reason Box Promos have any semblance of success is because they contain desirable items. If these look better than the Raiments, then it's clear which will convince people to cash out.

Granted, this is merely speculation, but it is a logical assumption to make.

What's up with the names?
Wild, Feral and Savage all share names with the Piercing Tortodrone gear, Primal with 3* Elemental.
Huh?

Is this yet another case of "Mixed-up Promo" syndrome; were these supposed to tie in with the Tortodrones somehow but 'reasons' pushed them out half-baked again?

One possible reason is that having multiple kinds of Boxes on sale actually lowers their total sale rate. It makes more sense to space out box sales than to sell 2 different kinds at the same time.

Having Katastrophe prize boxes competing with Solstice boxes wouldn't have been a good idea.

Still, a better idea would have been to postpone the Katastrophe event so that these boxes and the event would have been released right after the Solstice box offer expired.

Even better to do this and release the ZAP boxes after the Katastrophe event ended.
