Addition of a new experience bar for weapons and armour. This PvP heat bar will show right under the heat bar and it will only have 5 levels.

Is this like a heat system that only exists for PvP, or does it only level up through PvP play?
Would it stack with the current heat level?
Would it do anything? Increase damage... add a natural UV?
An extra boost would be unfair, not only do most PVP regulars have access to incredibly powerful trinkets (HP and weapon boosting) but now their weapons which have been UVed to beyond OP now get even stronger? No to that, we need fresh blood in the PVP scene and this would drive them away even more (no that HP trinkets makes new players feel incredibly useless).
I think a Krogmo coin for every level up plus 5 once you reach max is a good idea. Just have the bar reset once it reaches 5.
so holy you suggest a character heat bar that only adds the amount of tokens you get per game? that seems reasonable but only takes effect if you win
also OP a secondary heat bar? no way, way too unbalanced
I believe it would be better to gain heat from foes you defeated (of course there would be more rage about recons stealing kills) rather than having to win a round.
Of course this would mean that Pro players are further rewarded for hunting down those new to LD.
Even though this way is balanced I don't like the way it sounds.
If this mechanism existed only in a Trinketless, boostless, and UV-less LD then I would be more happy since everyone has a much more equal chance of winning.
Nope, this is for glory only but if OOO likes, they can make it so a higher level PvP weapon can have cosmetic effects on it. That would surely boost their profits.
So it's a cosmetics thing. I can work with that. How does it gain heat though? Players don't drop heat... is it based on the end-of-round score that is used for leaderboards?
And as for the words against PvP heating being beneficial to combat... At most I was thinking something set to a low UV. That would also force players to play PvP of the correct tier in order to have their weapon at its fullest potential. Think tier 1 and 2 is dead? Make players want to play at those tier levels and they will. A "low" upgrade also means a lot more to a tier 1 player than a tier 3 player.
But back on what was actually suggested: what kind of cosmetic effects are you thinking? These work for armors and the likes already, but weapons would be a whole other level of customization. Do these customizations take place outside of PvP scenarios as well?

Anyways, The PvP bar as it explains itself will advance from PvP events only which is Lockdown as of now(BN overrides your weps so that doesn't count).
As you advance your weapon in a level, it unlocks a customization slot(whichever order OOO prefers). This will continue until the last level 5, after which you will gain a skin slot instead(for re-skinning duh). You only gain PvP heat by winning an/a LD match.
The five slots are: Unique slot1, Unique slot2, attack effect, charge attack effect, Weapon skin.
Uniques can either be an aura, bullet shell replacement or weapon animation.
About the cosmetics, they can be whatever OOO likes but as an example, I'll write a few:
/--- Flame Aura - Gaseous flames released from the blade of a sword/ holes in the gun(I mean any hole, not just the muzzle). This effect is similar to FO3's 'Shishkebab'.

\--- Neon Aura - Similar to GF/DA's aurae, this aura is also compatible with guns(I would've drawn some basic concepts but alas, I can't).
Cartridge replacement - replaces the bullet shells from antigua line weps or any other weapon that casts them.
Sound replacement - replaces the gunfire sound/ blade swing sound.(Counts as attack effect)
Swing effect - adds an effect when swinging.
Charge attack effect - adds an effect when performing a charged attack.
Attack sound and visual effects can be combined at the cost of Energy.
And finally, the person responsible for this service would be a third gremlin at the bazaar(or wherever OOO likes).

how about damage? the game measures damage in the end of round result screen so y not that?
Also i was thinking what about a pvp ranking like from novice to gladiator? With 5 stages. So the more you play, the more you will be recognize as a frequent master pvp'er.
What Perks will this PVP level give?
