You are wielding, lets say, a blitz and charging it a lot. But suddenly you just got cursed when were charging. You have no idea wich weapon have curse on it and you want to avoid possible dmg while realising the charge. Now you dont have to wait 40seonds of beeing useless. Just use a vial (capsules, barriers and support dont work).

So I assume this works on all

So I assume this works on all swords and guns, would I be correct in assuming that it works for bombs too?

Yeah but you can't perform a second action simultaneously while charging.

I'm vohtarak, call me by that name

it does that with bombs too, yes

and battle sprites aren't affected by curse so you can be useful even without weapons

Aye, this is a nice technique in general which more people should learn. I don't think it's super useful, though. In most cases, it's as safe to unleash the charge as it is to pop a vial. I'd say this goes for about half of all weapons or so. For example, this is super useful for Cutters, Warmaster Rocket Hammer, and Fang of Vog. However, a Brandish or Calibur will not take a lot more time to unleash than it takes to pick up a vial and throw it. Weapons also tend to provide more knockback, which can make them safer than vials despite the speed difference.

As for using it specifically to counter curse, I had not thought about that before, but I suppose that's a good idea. That said, you almost never face curse in the Clockworks and when you do, you're very much aware that you will (Black Kats or UFSC) and you should bring some form of curse resistance to such scenarios. Personally, I more or less always play with -4 curse resistance so if I'd somehow magically get cursed despite not expecting curse, I wouldn't be able to use a vial anyway, heh.
