Today I tried to install spiral knights on linux, now I have spiral knights in my home folder when I try to launch the game it flickers a bit, then a window pops up saying, "We were unable to initialize the game's graphical display." Now at this point I'm assuming it's because it's trying to run fullscreen, and I'm wondering if their is a way to configure spiral knights and turn fullscreen to false. (I could care less for fullscreen gameplay to be honest.)

If it helps here is the projectx.log file:
2011/06/06 10:04:24:253 INFO M$a.a: Logging to '/home/william/spiral/projectx.log'.
2011/06/06 10:04:35:644 INFO M$a.a: Couldn't create display; switching fullscreen mode. [fullscreen=true]

Similar Issue

I have a similar issue. I am currently running Ubuntu 11.04, and whenever the game opens up, even if fullscreen is selected on the menu it stays in a window. I often have to disable and then re-enable fullscreen to get it working, although this sometimes takes a couple tries.

Yeah, I'm using crunchbang

Yeah, I'm using crunchbang linux and it won't even start at all not even in fullscreen. (Even though it's trying to start in fullscreen, which I don't want it to do, I want it windowed.)

Interesting.

I'm using Arch Linux, and it works fine for me. What does
dmesg | tail
tell you after you try using fullscreen?

Dmesg doesn't tell me

Dmesg doesn't tell me anything related to it, besides I thought dmesg only tells you kernel related things.
