Seriously,

It occurs to me that to be taken seriously, by serious gamers, those gamers need to know what's going on and what to expect. at the very least this is done by patch notes.

Sure, Ya'll (OOO) make an announcement on the forums when you make a change, but if you're going to do that can you please just remove the "patch notes" from your updater?

As its been it goes pertty much patch screen > wiki patch page > sk frontpage, > sk announcements > sob since you didn't even bother making an announcement for the recent patch.

I love this game. I've been a player for years, and I'm even willing to show that appreciation with my wallet. But when developers don;t even to provide the documentation of an update, when they should already be doing som kind of documentation internally. it does show that the game has any really future. (on that note yes gunnar updated, cry somemore, I'm looking forward to any kind of progression at this point beyond boxes, skins, and wallet monsters)

The problem is, OOO sets the players upon themselves, I can see their plans now. By refusing to reveal the details of the releases, they set the player base against it self, some of them are like you and me, seeking thruth, while the others, the OOO cheerleaders, defended their failures and misdeeds. The likes of Seiran, Bopp, Fangel and many, many others... they want us to fight amongst ourselves so they can remove all the attentions away from themselves...

I have not forgotten you OOO, I have not forgotten your misdeeds, while everyone else looked away as if this is something beyond their control, I remembered your ignorance and arrogance. Hide your failures all you want, in the end, one's demise is always one's own making, you know what I mean...

"by serious gamers"

So "serious gamers" play Spiral Knights?

You know, your free to mark the changes and details youself and then make a google docs then link that so EVERYONE would know. Three Rings doesn't have to do all the work.

waiting...

Things tend to turn sour once ETAs and the likes are officially announced and they aren't met, that was the case when the Gunner update was delayed the first and second time. Still a little teaser in the form of a video or even a few lines in an announcement post on where the developers stand at this moment in time would be welcoming.

Multiplayer for Don't Starve was announced around May and since then we have had countless updates from the developers. Note, Klei are a very small team, very small, so small they had to hire a new smaller team to help make multiplayer a possibility. Multiplayer was originally officially announced as a no go, based on the amount of work and expertise it wasn't possible. Still Klei have managed to turn it around just to keep their fan base happy.

I'm sure with the amount of time it takes to post an announcement over a new promo, OOO could afford a few seconds to keep us updated. No?

Please cite an example of where I have defended Three Rings' failures. Threads such as this one don't count, because I am not defending Three Rings; I am just trying to help players lead a peaceful life.

I "seek truth" at least as vigorously as you do. I don't like stealth patches either.

I think. That patch notes for bug fixes etc. would be very much appreciated, as they show that there is progress happening on the game. Of course, not all patches should be announced, and trying to hide them with bug fixes isn't so necessary. For instance, if the game were changed to be able to download icons and texture files on the fly, it might not be the best idea to tell people about it.

There is however no reason not to announce things like updated textures, and the OP is quite justified in this belief in communication in most cases.

@Bopp

Seeking truth??? You can fool the rest, but you can't fool me- I know you're just coming onto me with this truth seeking act you keep putting on.

and Flourish length

Remember when Three Rings stealth-patched the Flourishes, to make them short rather than long? It seriously altered their feel in the Clockworks --- let alone in PvP, where range is so important. Argh.

Error 404: subject not found

@Mystrian

So to hear you tell it, the community should spend more than a few man-hours trying to figure out what was changed themselves (and potentially missing smaller changes completely), when OOO--who already knows what changes are being pushed out--could type up a post in a matter of minutes? Am I understanding you?
